katsuki was tired.

his day was annoyingly long. though, he didn't hate it.

his feet didn't hurt as much, yet they were still injured. they'd kept him busy and his lack of cooperation during his sizing only made it take longer.

though, in the end, he was soon placed back into izuku's room only to find that it was empty.

izuku was not there.

was his schedule longer? who knows.

though, this did mean that katsuki now had free space to roam around in izuku's room.

the blond hummed as he sat up, crawling over the large bed to briefly stand up before sitting in a chair in front of izuku's desk. he ignored the throb in his feet from standing up on his own and decided to examine the desk to notice a few drawers.

they were simple white drawers on his white desk. curiosity immediately struck katsuki was he opened one to reveal many rings, they were shiny, most were make out of diamond while others were make of some sort of crystal or jewel.

though, the one that suck out the most to katsuki was a certain ring. it was silver with an emerald so big that it almost appeared fake.

but it was real, definitely real as it seemed to glow with the slightest bit of reflected light that passed through it.

seeing the emerald reminded katsuki of izuku, who seemingly had his own set of emeralds lost in those bright eyes.

though katsuki soon heard the jiggle of the doorknob before it opened, revealing a quite roughed up izuku.

viridian immediately met crimson as their eyes met in the no longer sunlit room, almost as if izuku had forgotten that katsuki was there.

izuku then saw that katsuki was holding a ring, "oh don't tell me that your true intent was to rob me of my goods." he sighed with a playful, yet exhausted huff.

"hm-? no! i was just looking around. now i'm hurt that you'd think that i'd steal from you." katsuki retaliated fairly quickly.

"i'm joking, of course. and if you did, i simply wouldn't be able to find it in my heart to be upset with you." izuku explained, closing the door behind himself as he approached the bed before sitting on it, a heavy breath of exhaustion leaving him.

"what happened to you?" katsuki wondered, placing the ring back before closing the drawer and crawling up onto the bed to izuku.

izuku huffed, "i had a few conferences today. and when i mean a few, i mean eight." he explained briefly. "i had to deal with slick remarks, inquiries about what'd happened during my ceremony. and somehow, many people losing faith in me as a leader due to the fact that i put you before my own ceremony."

katsuki frowned at this. "but don't worry! it's not your fault, i deal with this almost everyday. though, i was supposed to be attending one more but i kind if ran away." izuku shrugged.

katsuki scoffed at that, nodding. no wonder izuku looked so winded. "you're so chaotic that it's almost sad." he sighed. izuku only hummed in agreement before standing up once more.

"i have to bathe. i'd gotten all sweaty from running across the palace. do you as well? if so, we could save water by-"

"i've already bathed before my sizing, weirdo!" katsuki shouted. a bright shade of pink spread across his face, showing just how embarrassed he was.

izuku only snorted, whispering something inaudible before disappearing into his bath room.

katsuki scoffed at that, taking this time to change into one of izuku's sleeping blouses long enough to cover his shorts that weren't very big.

though, after a bit, izuku returned, a white towel clinging loosely to his hips as he opened the door. katsuki immediately gasped, almost offended by the sight before shoving a pillow into his face.

"m'sorry! i should've said something, but i left my clothing out there." izuku apologized sweetly. "i don't care, i'm going to bed!" katsuki yelled, pulling the heavy duvet over himself.

izuku then took this time to slip on some bottoms and then pants before grabbing a shirt and sitting over on his bed.

he then giggled as he saw the sight of katsuki trying, and failing, the appear asleep. his face was a bright shade of pink and he squeezed his eyes shut in an almost angry expression.

"i have pants on now, no need to pretend." izuku sighed. katsuki only huffed before opening his eyes to see izuku's back and arms which were littered by scars.

curiosity immediately struck katsuki as his unfiltered mouth began to move. "why do you have so many scars?" he asked quickly, quirking a brow with wonder.

izuku then turned around, laughing sheepishly, "nothing exciting, really."

katsuki shuffled on the bed, sitting up in front of izuku. "well, i'm going anywhere." he shrugged. izuku then chewed the inside of his cheek with a huff before slipping his shirt on to cover himself.

"fine," he sighed. "they're mostly stab wounds. when i was younger, my father wanted me to be able to wield a sword. he thought i'd be useless without the ability."

"so, he attempted to train me himself. and as you can see, it wasn't the kindest of training. it wasn't until he'd slashed the skin on my arm completely open that he'd gotten sentenced to death by my mother who ruled higher than him." izuku explained.

katsuki stared blankly, "you call that not exciting?" he questioned dumbly. izuku only giggled softly, "not exciting in the good way at least. though, i've never had a great relationship with my father. he only came around to urge me to train for a sword. even though i did eventually learn, i did not want to wield sword at that time. i was not ready." he sighed.

"though i can't help but feel a bit of guilt for his death. if i had been stronger, then i would have been able to stop him and maybe he'd have been alive." izuku admitted, a sad glint sinking deeply into those emerald irises.

katsuki found it quite hard to find what to say. yes, he was always there for comfort in his village, but only physical comfort. he was able to aid those who were hurt on the outside, not the inside.

though, he sighed, pushing it all away. this wasn't just anyone he was comforting izuku. katsuki didn't know why, but it felt different.

"it isn't your fault. what happened was out of your control." katsuki spoke softly. maybe it was because he was exhausted, but becoming softer around izuku was easy.

"i know, but-"

"there's no 'but's. don't worry about it. i mean what i said." katsuki spoke firmly, causing izuku to stare at him blankly. he wasn't used to the blond being so assertive. though, it was nice to see that he was determined to make sure izuku wasn't worrying.

katsuki then yawned, "also, cancel anything you've set for me tomorrow. i'm going to sleep now." he grunted before turning away from izuku and sinking into the fluffy bed.

the green haired man hummed, "fine." he sighed before joining katsuki who, needless to say, moved far away from izuku with a brightly flushed face.
