Chapter 3: Free At Last
Syd and Kuki look around it was kind of hard to see considering all of the spider webs, vines, and moss around them, I mean it's expected from a place that's practically ancient. "Look over there" Kuki says pointing towards some long vines that seem to be leading up to the whole they fell from. "I don't know. Maybe? Looks like it." Syd responds as she walks towards the vines, grabbing them and pulling on to them to check how sturdy they are. "They seem fine... Here I'll go." Syd says continuing her response before she was cut off by Kuki. "No I'll go" Kuki says. "No I'll do it" Syd responds. "No you're already hurt enough, last thing I want is for you to break something trying to climb something we're not even sure is fully safe." Kuki says pushing Syd aside and grabbing the vines tightly, and then started climbing. As Syd was watching Kuki fearing that she might fall, she was quickly distracted when she heard the sound of buzzing on the other side of the tracks. "Dude!" Syd yells out. Kuki slightly lost grip but quickly grabbed on again "what happened?" She says. "I don't know... I heard something, hold up" Syd says walking towards the sound, Syd looks down and realizes what it is "dude it's you're phone" she says. "Wait wha- ohhhh... I think I may have dropped when I tackled you..." Kuki responds confused at first. "Can you get it for me?" She asks. "Yeah, I gotchu." Syd says ducking down to get it. "Syd!" Kuki yells out when Syd dropped flat on the ground and passed out. Kuki lost grip on the vine but just barely saved herself grabbing to the edge of it last second. "Syd! Syd!" She yells. "Please!" Kuki yells. Kuki's eyes widen when she sees Syd's body move a little. "Are you okay!?" She yells. Syd stands up shakily"Oh... Don't worry, I'm fine..." Syd responds with a big smile that made Kuki feel weird... Kuki stared as Syd walked over to the bottom of the vine she was climbing. "Come on hurry up, we need go get home..." Syd says with unsettling smile. "I mean, you don't want your parents to get angry... Do you?" Syd says pointing Kuki's phone screen towards her her the missed calls and texts from her mom and brother, to some it may be like a little warning or something a friend would do to warn them out of kindness, but to Kuki it was weird, out of character for Syd, unsettling even... Kuki carried on pretending like she doesn't feel weird cause she may just be feeling a bit weird after what happened so she pushed it aside and just waited till they got out to see what was wrong.
