The Terror Train (rewrite)
"Do you think we got away?" Kuki chuckled. "Syd looked back, "Definitely." Syd laughed. Syd and Kuki walked for a while, laughing about what had just happened when something caught Syd's eye.
"What is that place?" She asked. Kuki looked towards where she was looking. "I dunno..." She responds. "Why don't we go check it out?" Kuki smirks. "Can we even go in?" Syd asks. "Hmmmm." Kuki took a moment to think, looking at the caution tape blocking the entrance.
Kuki looked around, "What if we get in trouble?" Syd says. "Dude we're like in the part of town that people rarely go to, trust me we're good." Kuki chuckles. "And if we died nobody would be around to hear us." Syd mutters. "Even better." Kuki says with a big grin.
"Fine, but if we die I'm blaming your ass." Syd says, she walks over to the caution tape. The tape seems to have been there for a while, it was very dry and dirty. "You go first." Syd says holding up the caution tape. "You do it." Kuki says. "No, I'm a gentleman." Syd says.
"Welp, can't argue with that." Kuki says. She walks under the caution tape and waits for Syd. Syd follows after her and they see the entrance, there was a sign there, "Welcome!" Syd mocks the sign. "This place is creepy." Kuki says. "What? Are you scared?" Syd chuckles. "No." Kuki scoffs.
The sign also seemed very old, the sign had graffiti on it, there were cracks, and discolored paint. Kuki and Syd walk around the place, sticking close to each other. "What even is this place?" Kuki asks.
"I dunno, it looks like an old swap meet. Don't ya think?" Syd responds. "Shit, I think you're right." Kuki says, she looks around paying close attention to the stuff around her. "Goddam what the hell happened to this place?" Kuki asks. "This place looks like it got fucking raided by werewolves or some shit." Syd responds.
"This looks like a horror movie set." Kuki says. "It does." Syd responds. The entire place around them seems to have been destroyed somehow, destroyed banners, and canopies. There were dirty or destroyed tables, or some were just on the ground due to wind. Everything around them seems to have been destroyed or abandoned somehow.
"There's still some stuff here though." Syd says, looking closer to the abandoned items left on shelves. "Yeah, it looks like people just up and left." Kuki responds. "Yeah, they didn't even bother to take their stuff." Syd says.
"You think they died?" Kuki chuckles. "Bro." Syd looks at her in disagreement. "What? I was just joking." Kuki says. "What do you think happened that made them all just leave?" Syd looks around more.
"It must've been years ago though, I haven't heard anything about a swap meet closing down." Syd says. "This stuff looks ancient." Kuki says. "Yeah that too." Syd responds.
"Holy shit are those comics?" Syd says, she walks over to one of the stands and grabs a dusty comic from the shelves. She attempts to blow the dust off but it just flies into her nose. "Oh shit-" Syd coughs. "Dumbass." Kuki mutters. "Shut the fuck up." Syd says, wiping her nose.
She wipes the dust off with her hands and reveals the comic. "Holy shit, this is practically ancient!" Syd exclaims. "What is it?" Kuki asks. "It's an old ass marvel comic, goddam." Syd answers. "My mom's gonna love thi- wait, nevermind. She's gonna ask questions." Syd says.
"Imagine how much stuff we could sell from here." Kuki says. "I think we should just leave them alone." Syd suggests, putting the comic back on the shelf. "Oh come on! Imagine how much this stuff goes for." Kuki says. "Yeah, but something doesn't seem right about this place." Syd says. "I don't see anything wrong." Kuki says. "I have a weird feeling about this place." Syd says. "I don't." Kuki responds. "You're telling me you aren't getting an uncomfortable feeling from this place." Syd says. "Yeah well I just think that's because of how old and creepy this place is." Kuki responds.
"Yeah this place is old and creepy but... I don't know, I have this gut feeling." Syd says. "You probably just feel uneasy because of the setting. Come on, let's look around more." Kuki says. Kuki and Syd explore the place more, then they come across a fence.
"What's this?" Kuki says, walking ahead of Syd. "Hey dude, maybe we should head back now." Syd suggests. "Oh come on! I'm curious." Kuki smirks, looking back at Syd. "Come on dude there's a caution sign for a reason." Syd says.
"Dude please, there's obviously something over there, and I really wanna see what." Kuki begs. "Fine, but we're only gonna see, and that's it." Kuki responds. "Thank you broki." Kuki responds.
They walk up to the fence, "Now how are we gonna get over there?" Kuki asks. "We can jump it." Syd suggests. "Oh? Do you want me to help you over the fence?" Kuki smirks. "Nah. I have experience jumping w- fences." Syd chuckles. "Same, it's in our blood." Kuki smirks, nudging Syd's shoulder. "Okay okay, let's just hurry up." Syd says, holding back her laughter.
Kuki was about to climb the fence when Syd stopped her. "What? Are you backing out now?" Kuki asks. "No. What if it's an electric fence or something." Syd suggests. Kuki looks back at the fence. "Don't you think there would be a warning sign for electricity?" Kuki suggests. "True, okay go on." Syd lets go of Kuki's arm.
Kuki climbs the fence and jumps down on the ground, Syd follows after her. "God, what is this?" Syd asks. "How the hell should I know?" Kuki responds. "Shut up, I was thinking out loud." Syd responds. Syd and Kuki look around, confused at where they were. The place was much different than the swap meet, it was more empty, it made them feel even more uneasy. There were no buildings around them, no nothing, It was quite literally empty.
"This place is empty, do people even go here?" Kuki asks. "Well, I think. I mean how would anybody be able to put the fence and the caution sign up." Syd responds. "Maybe they put the signs and never came back, I think this place was just abandoned." Kuki responds. "I think you're right." Syd responds.
"What's that?" Kuki asks, pointing to something in the distance. "Huh?" Syd looks over at what she was pointing to. They walked closer to it. "More caution tape?" Syd questioned. They walked closer, the caution tape was surrounding a hole. "What the-" Syd can't finish her sentence.Kuki got closer to the hole, "What the hell are you doing?!" Syd yelled. "I'm looking closer." Kuki responds. "Look there's a rope." Kuki says. "Okay?" Syd responds. "Let's go down." Kuki responds.
"Are you crazy?!" Syd yells. "What? Let's go down and see what it is." Kuki says. "No! We aren't going to go down!" Syd yells. "Come on bro! Please." Kuki begs. "You said we would just look, that's it." Syd says.
"Yeah but we finally got something cool to check out." Kuki pleads. "But I-" Syd gets cut off. "Please, I don't want to do this alone." Kuki says. Syd takes a moment to think about it, she was hesitant but she finally agreed.
Kuki pulled her sweater sleeves down to her hands so she wouldn't get rope burns. She climbed down and waited for Syd. "Hurry up!" She yelled. Syd was still on top, she thought about if she should actually go through with it.
She didn't want to disappoint Kuki so she pulled her sweater sleeves down to her hands and climbed down. "I thought you were gonna back out on me for a sec." Kuki chuckled. Syd chuckled, "Sorry about that." Syd chuckles.
