"Wait, she can speak?!" Ike shouted

"Eh? He can speak too?!" Shinohara shouted after

"Gonna be honest, didn't even know who he was till now"

"Clas-"

"Wait, to be fair, none of us really know who each other are" A student responded

"Hol-"

"That's true, even though we've been together for a month, we haven't been able to socialize outside of our leaders groups" Ike sighed

"The next person who speaks will become sustenance for the demons"

.......

"Thank you class, it means so much to me that you shut the hell up" Sensei spoke

"We've all become a little riled up due to...... unforeseen events. For now, we'll cancel our little meeting-"

"Thank god" Ryuuen said through tired eyes

"That's it, you're demon sustenance" Sensei pointed his finger at Ryuuen menacingly

".......Sorry" Ryuuen said sheepishly

"That's what I thought"

Ryuuen would likely never apologize for such a threat, after all it was such a childish one. But knowing Sensei, it was very likely he was being serious.

"You're all free to go, normal classes start in 2 hours. Don't forget that the clearance test to enter the forest is in a few days."

"I expect you all to pass with flying colors. Once you do, please refrain from entering the forest though, I'd like to have you train for a bit longer."

"Eh? But Sensei-" Shinohara was cut off

"I know you kids are eager to experience fighting, but I'm trying to reduce the amount of casualties this year"

....casualties?

"Sensei, what exactly does that mean?" Ibuki asked

"After passing their initial test, kids tend to get cocky. They enter the forest as soon as possible and die in excruciating ways."

"It happens every year, id simply like to lessen that number"

The way he's speaking, it's likely impossible to stop all deaths. That means that even if he tries, some of us won't be coming back

"But you kids were prepared, weren't you? As future Demon Slayers, you should be prepared to die with every mission."

Looking around, my classmates were in fact..... not prepared. Yet, no one seemed ready to give up.

"Sensei-" unexpectedly, it was Koenji who spoke first

"- are we just supposed to ignore the demon now?" He asked

That's a good question, the demon they spoke of was still standing next to me.

"She doesn't seem like she's going to do anything right now, I'll wait for you all to leave before attempting anything. It'd be dangerous with you dolts around anyway"

"A perfect existence such as myself won't waste his time then. If you'll excuse me, I'm missing out on my beauty sleep" Koenji responded, standing up and walking out of the room

Following suit, the rest of the class began to leave as well.

Sakayanagi, perhaps realizing she'd caused enough trouble for today, also left
