It was a few more days before Misaki could leave the hospital. Time passed slowly, and things seemed to drag on. But slowly, it did and soon enough she was home. The sight of the house set her back only slightly, the slight anxiety settling in as she revisited the places she was attacked. Osamu and Kiyoomi had taken the liberty to replace the door that Yukari had chewed and clawed through to get out. The carpet had also been replaced in the one room, the door closed for obvious reasons. It would not be opened unless Misaki did it herself.

The house looked immaculate, but Atsumu had put the two of them on the bottom floor for more easy accessibility for Misaki. She was ordered to rest in bed for several weeks, so the bottom floor was easier for her to navigate. Atsumu had been allowed two days with her after she came home from the hospital, but now, on the third day he was back to work.

With this in mind, Misaki was now bored out of her mind. Yes, she had her parents, who would make sure she had anything she needed. But somehow, it seemed lonely without his company. Atsumu had decided that they would be at hers since his only had two bedrooms. At the current moment, she was curled in bed, an old manga novel in her hands titled Tail of The Moon. The story of Usagi, the worlds worst ninja made her giggle, despite knowing it wasn't real. But time ticked slowly.

The warmth of Yukari as she lay her furry head on Misaki's shoulder was comforting, the sunshine glowing brightly through the windows as it spread it's infectious warm rays. Koyuki stuck her head in, a soft smile on her face as she observes the peaceful state her daughter was in. After a few seconds, Misaki feels her stare and looks up, her green eyes twinkling. "Yes?" She asks softly. "Lunch is ready. Do you want any?" Her mother murmurs. Thinking for a second, she nods. "What's for lunch?" she finally asks. "I made chicken parmesan stuffed baked Zucchini," She smiles.

That was one of her favorites. The thought of it made her drool. "Mom, why didn't you become a chef?" Misaki finally asks after years of wondering. Koyuki gives a far off thoughtful look for a few moments before answering. "Well, I thought about it, but then we found out we were expecting you and Minato. I decided that I had other things I loved just as much that I could do close by and still have time to do the thing I loved most, being your mother. And before you ask, I don't regret it. My kids are my masterpiece."

The thought made Misaki smile. Her mother had always been a sunny person. And she always knew she was loved. Her mother made sure to smother them in affection from early on. Anything they wanted to do, they always knew they had support whether they wanted it or not. And quickly, this Misaki decided, was exactly the kind of parenting she wanted to display. Finally finished chewing on the thought, she peers at her mom. "Mom... Thank you for all you did for us," she finally breathes. Her mom grins. "It was never something to thank for. Remember, I'll always love you."

Her mom kisses her cheek, getting up as she pats the sleeping dog on her furry head. "I'll bring you a plate, alright?" Slipping away, Misaki is once again left to think. Her father was out running errands, so just Atsumu's mother and her own mother were here. But before long, her mother returned, Atsumu's mom in tow, both carrying plates. "We thought you could use some company," Nanami, Atsumu's mother murmurs. Offering seats on the bed, Misaki slowly sits up, her throbbing ribs protesting in pain. "Here, I more than welcome the company," she smiles in response.

Patting her daughter's head, Koyuki sits at the bed, placing the hand towels under the plate with a grin. "I made it the way you like it. With extra marinara sauce," she laughs. Misaki had a secret, one she never meant to quite be a secret. Her mother's family had moved over from Italy when she was a baby. Her maternal grandfather had been Japanese, her grandmother, Italian. So growing up, she had been raised with both cultures and enjoyed both types of food growing up. Her mixed heritage was a secret she never really meant to be a secret. It just never came out.
