"Please, have a seat. We have plenty to discuss here,"

I walked in, the sound of my shoes making a patter noise on the floor. There were three men, sitting at the dimly lit table. I took my seat at the far end, making as much room as possible.

"We've been watching you closely, or we've tried. We are slightly confused by your tactics, young slayer?"

"You're confused? Hell, I'm confused. I don't know what the hell I'm doing."

The man crooked his head, "What's so confusing, dear?"

"Everything! I don't know how to slay several vampires in one day. I don't know how my ancestors had died. I'm not sure how to keep my father and, so called, watcher off my back. Not even mentioning my cheating Alpha mate. I want to go home to my family. I want things to go back to normal."

My words hung in the air. The men seemed to understand where I was coming from, but gave me a minute or two to get my breathing back under control.

"But, why are you here?" The same one asked. The only one doing any talking.

I sighed and threw my hands up. "I don't know! I don't know anything anymore!"

I needed to reassess my situation, but right now, nothing seemed worth it.

"So young and so dazed. Don't you see? You were blessed with one thing that you're failing to see. That mate of your's, isn't just an Alpha. He's stronger than that. You wouldn't have been mated to him otherwise. You're an Alpha's mate, a Luna. He's a Slayer's mate. Something so rare, something that should be protected. You two were placed together for a reason and one reason only: to end our war with the supernatural beings of destruction,"

I let that sit in.

Mason was supposed to help me. I should've never lied to him. I should've told him everything, allowed him to be with me, and informed him like any other couple would've. I have failed in a sense.

"Your father is also helping you, you just haven't realized it yet. Ammon has been on our list for quite some time now. He was meant to be the watcher for the new slayer, before we knew you, but he became crook. He had your real watcher killed. He was a good, plump man. Nervous but good. He had been watching you, but Ammon had been watching longer."

I sighed. It seemed like the only thing I could do. I stood up, pushing the chair back.

"If this was what I was meant to do, I will do it. But, I'll be damned if I let that cheating son-of-a-bitch help me. I can do this on my own,"

The all found humor in that, making my fists clench tighter.

The same man shook his head and looked up to me.

"It's a bit too late for that, my dear,"

I frowned, "What do you mean?"

"I mean, he's already here,"
