"Give me your hand, we're going for a walk."

My heart was still hammering from his kind compliment and I wasn't sure my legs held the ability to handle the weight of my body as I stared into the overwhemling blankness.

"A walk?" I asked as I shook my head, dwelling in internal self hatred as my subconscious could care less about my well being, allowing me to foolishly waste no time placing my hand in his.

Great way to look desperate in front of this wonderful smelling man Juliana. You couldn't even pretend to hesitate for even a second?

I pushed away my nagging inner thoughts just as I welcomed his warm touch, the softness of his palm melting against my own as I felt his fingers wrap gently around mine. I pushed up from the edge of the bed and attempted to steady my wobbling weakened legs.

"Here, let me help you." He mumbled under his breath, not exactly preparing me for what was coming next.

Phew, hold on Jules

I became breathless to say the least as I felt his other arm wrap around my waist, holding me up as he guided me to my feet and placed my IV pole in my free hand.

"Just follow my lead. I know I'm asking alot of you coming from a complete stranger, but just trust me Juliana." He chuckled as he held his grip on my hand while we began to move in slowly tandem.

"Austin if you let me fall, that's it. It's over, I'm taking back my forgiveness." I joked, his grip tightening around me, as if that were the last thing he wanted.

"Guess we better be extra careful then, huh?" He chuckled. He stopped short, a sudden crashing noise ironically sounding from behind him, causing me to jump out of my skin and nearly lose my balance as our hands separated from each other's.

"Shit."

"What was that?" I exclaimed as my arm flung forward, coming in contact with the front of his body. My hand landed firmly on the surface of his chest, the luxurious material of his dress shirt mimicking the feeling of pure silk underneath my fingertips.

I felt my body flush with nerves as the realization dawned upon me that man must be rolling in money. I mean who casually sends flowers every day to the woman they've crashed into and then go on to pay for the entirety of her hospital bills?

I had to stop myself from caressing the incredible fabric as I quickly pulled my hand away and nervously gripped onto my IV pole.

"I'm sorry, I sort of- knocked over your bedside table." He said with a small snicker, causing me to laugh carelessly along with him.

"Great, the blind leading the blind." I rolled my sightless eyes upwards, his warm touch revisiting my vacant hand as I nearly drowned in his mouth watering scent.

"Real funny Juliana, didn't know my new friend was such a comedian." He chuckled, the beautiful laughter between us somehow drawing us even closer together.

"Now c'mon, I've got you."

I took in a breath, allowing him to entangle our fingers once again, as we began to presumingly trail towards the open doorway.

"Austin I'm going to fall." I tried my best not to panic, though this was only my second time walking since the accident. Much to my dismay, not being able to see where I was going, was undoubtedly going to take a whole lot of getting used to.

"I think you should know by now that I won't let anything else happen to you."

Fuck, I think I was going to pass out in his arms if he kept talking to me like that. Jesus Jules, pick one. Are you lonely or just plain desperate? I groaned internally, though I knew deep down, I was probably both.
