We entered the train compartment and sat down in the seats that lined either side of the car. Glitch sat with Nat and JD, while I sat with Techno and Thor. The seats were cushioned, and I quickly relaxed, looking around at the people who sat around us. I saw three teenagers sit down on the opposite end of the train car, one with a beanie, one with hair over his eye, and one with a ripped white T-shirt. A sad-looking guy with blonde hair and a suit sat alone, heavily reminding me of a ferret for some reason. I even recognized the McDonalds employee I had encountered before, Rarilee, sitting somewhat nearby. She smiled at me, and I nodded back curtly. I hadn't fully forgiven her for making me live through a pun.

"Hand over your tickets," a gruff male voice said, and I jumped, turning to the speaker. Before us stood an older, bespectacled man in a suit, wearing a fez with a weird symbol on it. I looked around at my friends, who all wore expressions of sudden realization.

"Oh god..." I groaned. "Don't tell me-"

"Uh- we didn't get tickets," Techno told him.

"For fuck's sake!" I exclaimed angrily.

"You know what?" the ticket-dude said. "You can stay. I'll look past it. You guys seem comfortable, and if I was in your position, I wouldn't want to get up either."

"But isn't that illegal?" JD asked.

"If there's no cops around, everything's legal!" the man replied, before moving off to take other people's tickets.

"Well, he seems nice," I said, and everyone nodded in agreement.

The doors to the compartment shut, and I felt a thrill of excitement wash over me. We were finally going to fight our enemies, and we were doing it with my favorite mode of transport. As the train began to move, a man sitting opposite us began to play the guitar. He had a white streak in his fluffy brown hair, and the tune he played was rather sad, yet calming.

"Wasting your time," he sung in a British accent. "You're wasting mine."

His voice caused my eyes to droop, and my head to fall onto Techno's shoulder. I had no idea how long the train ride would be, but I might as well get some sleep so that I was energized for the big fight. The guitar man began singing about asthma, and that he was "fucking leaving". I was unsure of what he was singing about, but it was rather sad. I didn't have time to listen, however, for a blanket of fatigue settled over me, and I drifted into sleep.

A strange fog surrounded me once more as I opened my eyes. It was much thinner than it had been in my previous dream, and I was able to make out my blurry, yet familiar, surroundings. I stood upon a concrete platform, one that I had been on mere moments ago. The wooden bench sat a few feet away from my position, and a track lay at the edge of the platform, one that I was supposed to be traveling on.

As I looked around at the platform, an eerie whistle sounded in the distance. I turned in the direction of the strange sound, and saw a bright light piercing through the mist. The golden luminescence increased in its refulgence as it drew nearer, and it emitted another ghostly whistle. It soon grew close enough for me to distinguish a recognizable shadow surrounding the light, the silhouette of a train, not unlike the one I had seen mere moments ago. The light passed by me, and the train began to slow, eventually coming to a full stop before me. I stepped forward, warily approaching the train, and a wave of nervousness washed over me as the doors slid open. A man wearing a conductor's outfit leaned out of the entryway, one who I recognized instantly.

"All aboard!" Monty Burns shouted, despite the fact that I was the only one on the train platform. I looked around cautiously, before approaching this devil of a man.

"Where does this train go?" I asked him. He looked down at me, an unsettling grin on his face.

"This train goes anywhere you choose." Monty told me. "It can go nowhere, if you want, or it can go everywhere. The choice is yours, Wonder, but if you board this train, there is no turning back."

I looked down, contemplating my choices. I wasn't sure what would happen if I boarded the train, but I knew I couldn't be hurt either way, for this was merely a dream, no matter how much it felt otherwise.

Taking a shaky breath, I stepped forward and boarded the train. Monty smiled.

"Welcome aboard."
