Starting Over [Book 2]

"Wait. Why did you get a new house?" Astrid asks Stoick.

"Well. It was because I had to sell the old house for enough money for our trip. And with all those memories, I thought it would be a new start." 

They some how got everyone in the car. Stoick and Hiccup are in the front. Astrid, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, Fishlegs, and Snotlout are cramped in the back. Well. Two seats behind the front seats and in the back are three more seats.

"Snotlout. You're siting on my hand." Whines Tuffnut.

"That's not me."

"Wait. Then that means... Fishlegs! Get off my hand!"

"I can't. I am cramped."

They argue for a few more minutes until they pull up into a driveway.

(A/N Pic to side. Don't say it is big and complain because where I live, this kind of house is very common. And I suck at describing so bare with me.)

They walk in and see the place furnished.

"Dad. Did you do this?" Asks Hiccup.

"Yep. While you were at the mud pit, I started unpacking. And I had a friend of mine help me a few days before we arrived."

"Cool." They wander around the house and look around. Hiccup makes his way to the backyard. He sees in underground pool. Astrid comes up behind him.

"That's a big pool."

"Yea."

"I say we should go swimming."

"Do you even have swim suits?" 

"No but me and Ruffnut can get ours and Tuffnut, Fishlegs and Snotlout can barrow some of yours."

"Yea... Tuffnut might be able to but I'm not sure about the other two." Astrid slaps his arm.

"You know it's true. The two have always be bigger then me." Astrid shrugs.

"Okay. So lets go get are swimsuits and come back and swim."

"Last one there is a rotten egg!" Yells Tuffnut. They all run and jump into the pool. Well all except Hiccup. He walks out and sits on a chair.

"Hiccup. Are you going to come in?" Asks Astrid.

"Maybe."

"Come on. It'll be fine. Why don't you... oh I know." She mumbles the last part. She climbs out of the pool. She walks over to him. She kneels in front of him.

"Hiccup. We won't judge you because of you leg. Right Snotlout and Tuffnut?" 

"Yea..."

She rolls her eyes and looks back at Hiccup.

"Please come in." Hiccup sighs and reaches for his prosthetic. He takes off the metal part and unwraps the wrap. He puts both on the chair and stands up, using the chair for support. Snotlout climbs out of the pool and goes to Hiccup's left side.

He hesitantly puts his arm around Hiccup's waist. Hiccup puts his arm around his shoulders. They go to the pool and Hiccup sits at the edge. Snotlout lets go and goes back in. Astrid follows. 

"You guys can stop staring. I already feel uncomfortable." Hiccup says. He slides in and uses his arms and right foot to keep him up. 

Hiccup can see everyone smiling at him for this. Hiccup smiles at his friends for their support.

"Chicken fight!" Yells Tuffnut. Suddenly, Hiccup is up on someone's shoulders.

"Whoa!" Hiccup says surprised. He looks at the person's face and sees Snotlout.

"Really?" Hiccup says. He looks in front of him and see Ruffnut on Tuffnut's shoulders and Astrid on Fishleg's shoulders. Fishlegs walks up. 

"Ready fishbone?" Astrid says smirking. Hiccup laughs.

"Fishbone? Really?" Astrid shrugs. She leans over and tries to push Hiccup off Snotlout's shoulders.  Both attempt to push the other of the person's shoulders. Eventually, Hiccup wins and Astrid falls into the water. Tuffnut replaces Fishlegs and Ruffnut does the same as Astrid.

She eventually catches him off-guard and pushes him off. He falls on his back. It stings from all the beatings and the stiffness. He tries to kick up to the surface but with one foot, it makes it difficult. He eventually gets to the surface. He coughs up water. He looks at everyone and sees their worried faces.

"Are you okay?" Asks Astrid swimming over to him. He nods.

"With one foot, it makes it hard to swim."

They get out and sit on the chairs. Hiccup is putting his prosthetic when Astrid finally sees his back.

Marks run across his back. One goes from his right shoulder to his left hip. She sees Ruffnut. She shakes her head saying not to ask.
