Starting Over [Book 2]

Hiccup, Astrid, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Snotlout, and Fishlegs went out to celebrate graduating. They went to Olive Garden (A/N: I love Olive Garden. Don't judge me.)

They are talking while they wait for their food. They are all glad to know that what Astrid had said at the graduation about Hiccup is true. They have never seen him smile for so long for a really long time.

When they get their food, it finally sinks into Astrid.

She has graduated.

She has a boyfriend.

Her boyfriend is Hiccup.

Snolout and Astrid had had a "run in" after homeroom on the first day. He described Hiccup as a twig with no friends.

Astrid didn't believe him. So has stalked away after rolling her eyes. He tried flirting with her but simply ignored him.

After the many times she saw him without a shirt-it being to clean up his injuries or when they went swimming- she could definitely say, he was not a twig.

Yes, he was skinny but not as though you could see all his bones. Yes you could definitely see the outline of his ribs but nothing to serious. There were a lot of freckles too, may she add.

Hiccup leans over to her. "When we leave, I want to take you somewhere." He whispers. It sends shivers down her back. She nods and he pulls away.

They finish their food and Hiccup takes her to his car. He opens her door for her and and she climbs in. He shuts it and goes to his side. He gets in a thought comes to her.

"Hey Hiccup." He looks up at her. "How do you drive with one foot." He smiles.

"I am a man of many talents. But even more secrets."

"I can agree with the secrets. I think we all can." He chuckles and starts the engine he buckles up.

They make their way to the direction of Hiccup's old house. He parks on the street and he shuts off the engine, Walks to Astrid's side and opens her door. She giggles at how gentlemen-like he is acting.

"Did the Astrid Hofferson just giggle over a boy?" Hiccup teases her. She punches his shoulder.

"Shut up."

"And now your punching your new boyfriend."

"That was for teasing me." She grabs his shirt and kisses him. When she pulls away, she smiles at his shocked expression.

"And that was for everything else."

"I have a feeling this is how you express your feelings." Astrid nods. He rolls his eyes.

They start walking on a street. Astrid had started carrying her shoes saying 'These shoes will be the end of me.' Hiccup offered to hold her heels but she didn't let him.

They are walking through a small field and come across trees.

"Hiccup." He looks at her. "Where are we going?"

"Surprise. And it's not much farther."

And he was right. They stopped at a ledge looking down at rather large clearing with a pond, rocks, and a ledge to walk on down. (A/N: It's the cove. Bare with me. I ain't good at explaining things but its the cove.)

"Hiccup... It's beautiful."

"It is but I can think of something else that is beautiful." He said rather cheeky. Astrid punches his shoulder.

"Your so cheesy." Astrid says while a very noticeable blush covers her cheeks.

"Okay. First: ow. Second: you love me and my cheesiness."

"If it will help you sleep at night." Hiccup just laughs and starts the way down, helping Astrid when she doesn't know where to step. When they make it down, Astrid questions why he brought her here.

"Well... My mom and I found this place when I was little-well littler." Astrid smiles at his sarcasm. It's one thing that she won't get tired of. "But when she um... passed on, and my dad left, and Tom was giving me a hard time, I would make my way here and it would calm me down. Or whenever I needed to be alone, this is where I would be most of the time."

"But if this place means a lot to you, why are you showing it to me?"

"Because. One: I trust you. Two: You mean a lot to me time. And since now we are dating, I thought it was a good time to show it to you."

Astrid seems and wraps her arms around his waist. His arms go around her shoulder and she puts her head on his shoulder, enjoying the feeling of his arms around her.

There's no place she would rather be.
