2 months later...

His dad stops the car in the parking lot. They get out and Hiccup gets his suitcase from the trunk.

"I never thought I would see my boy finally off to college."

"Neither did I. Are you sure you'll be okay watching Toothless?"

"Yes Hicccup. I will be fine."

They continue talking until Stoick tells him he has to head home. Hiccup grabs the handle to his suitcase and bag and heads to the campus. He gets his room number, the building number, a key, and a map.

He starts his way to his room. When he opens the door, he sees Tuffnut and Snotlout fighting over a bed.

"I got here first so I get the bed!" yells Tuffnut.

"No! We got here at the same time!"

Hiccup clears his throat. They stop fighting and look up at Hiccup.

"Tell him I got here first!" yells Tuffnut.

"Hi to you too."

"No you didn't! I was here first!"

"You just said we were here at the same time!"

"Hiccup!" They both yell and look at him. He groans, sets down his bag and looks back at them.

"Why don't you find a way to find a way to decide who gets the bed." They look at each other and shrug.

They both start running to the door, arguing about how they will decide.

"Why don't you just-" but they are out the door. "Flip a coin." He finishes.

He rolls his eyes and goes over to an unoccupied bed and puts his stuff on top. He puts his stuff away and decides to look around campus. His phone buzzes. He takes it out and sees a new message from Astrid.

You here yet?

Hiccup smiles and replies.

2 minutes pass and his phone buzzes again.

I just got here. Come to the parking lot.

He does as she says and waits for her to come into view. Until he feels someone jump on his back and almost makes him lose his balance. But he regains it and turns his head to see Astrid looking at him innocently.

"Hey Hiccup." She says and smiles. Hiccup returns her smile.

"Hi. Is this your new way of greeting me?"

"It could be."

"If it is, then b prepared for me to fall."

"Know we don't want that now do we?"

"No, we don't." She chuckles and hops off his back. He turns to face her and she puts her arms around his waist. He does the same to her.

She stands on her tip toes and kisses him. She likes him being taller than her, not that she would tell him.

The let go and start walking to the dorms. They swing their hands back and forth. Nobody looks at them strangely.

"Are the others here yet?"

"Oh... I walked into my room and saw Tuffnut and Snotlout fighting, and if Tuffnut is here, then Ruffnut can't be too far. But I'm not sure about Fishlegs."

They separated when they got to Astrid's room. Hiccup went back to his. Before he even gets to his room, he is glad to hear nothing from their room. He walks in and sits on his bed. He gets out his journal and starts drawing sketches.

He doesn't know how long he sits there but he hears agrueing down the hall and the door opens to see Tuffnut and Ruffnut.

Before he can even ask where Snotlout is, Ruffnut has her arms around him.

"Hi Hiccup! It has been forever since we have seen each other"

"It's been 2 days."

"whatever." She lets go and they start talking.

The rest of the day goes on.

She sees white.

She hears beeping.

She hears a male voice talking.

Not sure who his talking to. But the voice sounds familiar.

Her vision clears and sees Stoick sitting in a chair, holding a woman's hand, and by the looks f it, she is crying.

She is sitting on the hospital bed, in a hospital gown, with IVs in her arm.

The woman has auburn hair, fairly long, and bright green eyes.

She soon comes to the conclusion that this must be Hiccup's mother.

She listens to Stoick. "Valka, he will be alright. He will pull through the night."

"Stoick," Says the- Valka."He is 2 months early. He is so tiny. The doctors said he is sick and has a small chance to live. I can't lose another child. I want a chance to hold him, to watch him grow up, to see his first steps, to hear his first words. See him go to his first day of school. I want to meet his friends. I want to meet his first girlfriend, I want to see his wedding day. I want to meet my grandchildren. I want to be there for him when times are hard for him. I want to see Hiccup grow and not to see him in the hospital for the rest of his life because he came too early."

"We will see him grow up. I promise."

Just then, a doctor enters the room. "We got Hiccup secure. Would you like to she him?" They nod and Valka sits in a wheelchair. They exit. Astrid follows.

They enter another room with incubators and chairs next to them. There are machines and a few people in the room, not counting Valka, Stoick, and the doctor.

They go to an incubator close to the door. Inside, there is a tiny baby boy. He is pale, and very small. Valka's eyes get watery as she gets closer to the incubator.

Everything gets fuzzy from there...
