It's packing day. Ruffnut, Astrid and Hiccup are in his packing his stuff. Hiccup is packing the stuff in his bathroom and cleaning it, Astrid folding and packing his clothes, and Ruffnut is packing the items in his drawers. Hiccup walks out with a garbage bag full of garbage and goes to throw it away outside. Astrid turns to Ruffnut.
"I can't believe he is leaving."
"Me neither. But he is with his dad and they need time together to get closer to each other. I couldn't stand staying in a house with a parent who I haven't seen in ten years and lived with an abused relative for all that time and having nothing to talk about with having a panic attack or something."
"Who said he had a panic attack?"
"I'm not saying he did but you should have seen him when he was in Middle School. I could have sworn he was going to have one. I was partnered up with him for a project and the teacher came up behind us to see how we were doing and he got pale fast when he found out she was there. He got really tense too. I should have known and looked closer. I should have stopped bickering with Tuffnut and teasing Hiccup and looked closer at everything. It was so obvious."
"I didn't think I anyone would notice. I almost had one though." Both girls jump at the voice. They turn around and see Hiccup. He wasn't smiling but if you heard his voice on the last sentence, you would have thought he was.
"Hiccup. Why didn't you tell anybody?" Astrid says, getting up and walking up to him. He looks down and mumbles something.
"Huh?"
"Lets just keep packing." He says looking up and walking back into the bathroom. Astrid didn't feel comfortable with him being in there alone, considering what they found. But with how his life took a turn for the better, she has a feeling he won't do that anymore.
Eventually they finish packing the things in Hiccup's room. They walk down with boxes. Fishlegs, Snotlout, Tuffnut, and Stoick come up from the basement with boxes. They start packing them in the car.
"Okay that should be good for now." Says Stoick. He pats Hiccup on the shoulder. His flinch doesn't go unnoticed. Stoick frowns when he sees it but doesn't say anything.
He walks into the house. They walk behind the house into the backyard. There is a play set.
"Since when has there been a play set back here?" Asks Snotlout.
"Since I was five. My dad had built it and my mom would come back here with me."
They walk up to it and Hiccup sits on one of the swings. Astrid sits in the one next to him. And Fishlegd sits in the one next to her.
Tuffnut, Ruffnut, and Snolout sit at the top. Snotlout tries flirting with Ruffnut but she doesn't look like she is giving in any time soon.
Hiccup, Astrid, and Fishlegs talk about nothing important. Then Astrid asks Hiccup something that he hoped wouldn't be asked for awhile.
"When are you leaving?"
"Tomorrow morning."
"What?" Astrid yells. Hiccup flinches. Astrid forgetting about how he is uncomfortable when people yell around him because he thinks it would involve him, quickly calms down. She puts a hand on his tense shoulder.
"Hiccup, I'm sorry but I think we can all agree that we would of wanted to hear about this earlier." Hiccup nods.
"Yea. Sorry about that. A lot has been on my mind lately." He scratches the back of his neck, which Astrid had found out means he is nervous, or anxious.
"Whatever." Astrid rolls her eyes. She sees Ruffnut looking at her. Astrid can instantly tell what her face means. Astrid blushes and shakes her head.
But they both know she was lying.
