As Sara walking out of her house I saw she took casual Friday very seriously; her hair was on the top of her head in a bun, she had black sweatpants, and my sweater on. I couldn’t describe how it made me feel to see her wear my clothing but it made my otherside very happy. “How’s your arm?” I asked opening the car door for her.
“Fine,” she growled.
“Someone is grumpy.”
“Yeah well my arm hurts and I spent all night having nightmares about that guy coming back and hacking me into a million peices. You would be grumpy too,” she snapped.
“At least it’s Friday,” I said pulling into the road.
“What’s the point though, it’s not like I can go anywhere without having to worry about being attacked. What am I going to do this weekend that should make me even care?”
I laughed,” Give me your phone.” I typed my information into her contacts glancing from the screen to the road, “There now you have my number. Text me when you want to go somewhere and I’ll pick you up. Simple enough?”
“Don’t sass me.”
“I believe you were sassing me first.”
“I have plenty of reasons to be sassy.”
“Alright fine you can be sassy,” I smiled out her while she sat there glaring at me. After a few minutes she broked and returned the smile, “Finally. That is much better.” Sara didn’t reply she just blushed and jump out of the car, running to her first class so I couldn’t talk to her.
I spent all day trying to figure out Sara’s whirlwind of emotions: she was happy, angry, confused, and so many more feelings all at once and for the life of my I couldn’t figure out why. Everytime she saw me in the halls she would just blush again and duck down another hallway, I guess it was safe to assume at least one of the feelings was my fault.
At the end of the day I found myself walking to the locker Sara stood at instead of my car like I normally would. “Here let me help you,” some guy said taking the books she had been struggling with out of her arms.
I stopped walking and leaned back to the locker closest to me but far enough that they wouldn’t see me. I need to see what would happen. “Oh thanks, the books in my locker keep falling over. It’s like impossible to slide these books in,” she said looking up through her lashes.
He smiled down at her, “Well let me give it a try. I’m Mike by the way.”
Sara pushed something aside in her locker so that he could slide the books in. “I’m Sara,” i could see his arm brush her stomach where my sweatshirt had road up some when he stepped in to the books away.
Although she had no emotion reaction to him besides a little gratitude and the fact that it had been an innocent touch the contact still pissed me off. Mine. I pushed off the wall and started the rest of the way down to her. “You ready to go?” I asked placing my hand on the small of her back.
She jumped in surprise, “Yeah I just have to grab my one textbook and a few folders. Thanks for your help again Matt.”
“It’s Mike,” he mumbled staring at me with some crazy anger in his eyes. Oh well.
“Sorry. Well I’ll see you around,” she said closing her locker. I let Matt see me keep my hand on her back and take the books and folders from her as we walked away. “I hate guys like that,” Sara said when we were almost to the car.
“Like what?” I said moving my hand. It was better not to push it.
“The guys who hit on you in public or do really nice things like helping the quiet new girl put her books away. Soon it will be expected that I go out with him, because he will ask me in public or tell everyone if I say no, and then when I do say no I’m a bitch and there goes any chance of getting along with anyone here.”
“I want to say you’re wrong about guys thinking things through like that but you’re not,” I said laying her books on her lap and closing her door.
“Thanks for helping to get rid of him, his face was great. I think he thinks we are an item or something now.”
I looked over at the way she was smiling. “You intentionally got his name wrong didn’t you?”
“Yup,” Sara started laughing so hard her face turned red. And of course even that was attractive on her.
“That is horrible,” I said laughing with her. “Well I’m glad to see you’re not grumpy anymore. No one should be grumpy on a Friday.”
“That was way to funny, I kind of hope I see him on Monday.”
“You are a horrible person.”
“It’s a talent,” She said with a wink, “So what are your plan for this weekend?”
“Stalking your house waiting for you to tell me you have plans and need an escort. What are you going to do?”
“I guess I’m going to go home and come up with something for us to do. I’d rather just hang out with you, it’s creepy to think about you just hanging around my house even if you are just joking.”
Joking right. “Sounds good to me your house is so boring. No one does anything.”
“You are so creepy! No one told you to watch my house,” she said playing along with my “joke.”
“I know, I’m doing it of my own free will. I want you to be safe even if I have to be bored all day outside of your house.”
She laughed, I loved the way her face lit up, “I’ll text you when I come up with something.”
“Or you could just text me for no reason. It will help pass the time.”
Sara rolled her eyes, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“I’ll see you all night,” I said with a dark chuckle.

Love you all always
