"I'm not going to fight you Lance."

"Why not, worried I'm going to win?"

"No, because this is just insane."

"No it's the best way for me to prove that I'm right, I won't be fighting as much as I can because I don't want to hurt you. If I can beat you when I'm being gentle we will both know for sure that you stand no chance against someone like me."

"And when I kick your ass you can admit that I don't need you to take care of me."

"I happily will now get over here."

"Wait where's my bag I brought, the one with my clothing?"

"My room why?"

"Because you're in sweatpants while I'm still in the jeans I slept in; you can give me a second to get changed."

While she was off in my room changing I quickly stripped off my shirt and threw it on the stack of furniture. She had sweats rolled low on her hips with a new tank top when she came back. She stopped dead in her tracks blushing, "Why are you not wearing a shirt?"

"I figured since I am going easy on you it will be too easy, I thought this would even it out by distracting you."

"It's definitely working," Sara said eyeing my stomach and turning even redder.

I chuckled, "You will have plenty time to look later let's get this over with."

She visibly shook herself out of it and moved to stand in front of me just out of arms reach; I didn't leave her there for long. I knew I moved too fast for her to see and she jumped when I wrapped my arms around her from behind. She threw her whole body weight to one side before ducking under my arm and runner so her back was against the wall and not my chest. Damn.

I lunged for her again this time she saw it and went in the other direction making it back to the middle of the room. I stalked slowly across the room keeping eye contact with her the whole time; she leaned back just as I expected and I swiped her legs out from under her. I grabbed her waist before she hit the ground and pulled her up against me. I pressed a kiss to her neck and was pleased to feel her shiver in response. "You would be dead," I whispered in her ear.

"How long did I last?" She asked breathing heavily and taking a large step back away from me. My wolf growled at her retreating from me but I pushed him back down, now was not the time for this.

"Like ten minutes, so that would have been about five minutes with some who was actually trying to kill you. Maybe even less."

"I still held me own."

"Not well enough to stay alive," I snarled, "you need me."

"Oh come on! In a real fight I would do so much better, my adrenaline would be pumping and the excitement and fear would keep me going. I would so be able to take them or at least get away from them."

"I have no doubt you could take a regular human or maybe a shifter if they don't shift. You can't fight a wolf Sara! So as of this no you don't stand a chance in a fight."

"So what are you going to do, hang around my house? Take me everywhere? Talk about being clingy."

"If that's what it takes! I'm not taking any chances with you, I can't lose you. You might not feel it as strongly as I do but if something were to happen to me you would feel it. If something were to happen to you I will feel it and I can't go through that again.

"The night you were attacked I could feel your fear and your pain but by the time I got there you were already inside. I was terrified if you hadn't come out when you did I probably would have broken in. I refuse to go through that with you again. I can't live through it again."
