The party was off. A group of 8 from the Mushroom Kingdom, off on their journey to recover the Soulstones of the lost ancient heroes. A journey that can save their kingdom once and for all. But first..
They needed to find more allies.
The group said goodbye to those who wished them luck, and exited the gates of the kingdom, walking down the sidewalk trail until it turned to gravel. Little to no time at all, they were in Acorn Plains.
(Daisy) "Alright, well...what's first? The guardians? The soulstones? What do we go after first?"
(Mario) "Both seem a bit hard since we'll be travelling a long while, and we have no clue where the living guardians are. So...We might have to go with luck that we'll find them along the way. Until then...we'll stick with the Soulstones."
(Peach) "It'll be a bit risky if we just rely on luck...What'll we do if we find all the stones and yet...we're still at 8 people?"
(Mario) "Well...I don't kno-"
(???) "BACK! GET BACK, YOU CREATURES! OBEY YOUR KING!"
A few other members of the group would jump from the sound of a young child's distress. Mario looked over to the trees, from where the voice had come from. Fearing the worst, he motioned Luigi to come with him and ran through the forest, until he finally found where he needed to be. Down the hill was a little boy with curly yellow hair and blue eyes, dressed like royalty and holding a fake king's staff in his left hand. Around him, armored koopas held spears and swords, with their tips threatening to stab right through the child's skin.
"King Custard, member of the Celestial Guardians. Surrender to imprisonment or face the consequences!"
(???) "Who do you think you are?! Threatening your king like this?!"
(Mario) "HEY! STOP!"
Mario held out his arm, firing up a fireball shot and chucking it at one of the armored koopas. When it hit, it shot the koopa back...but not enough to make it properly fall. Not even enough to break the armor...!
(Mario) "What th...?! It didn't work!?"
"AMBUSHERS! ATTACK!"
Pulling out their spears and blades, the trio of koopas ran at Mario and Luigi, preparing for a fight. And that's exactly what happened. A fight between a couple of possibly undefeatable enemies and a pair of heroic plumbers. The smell of molten iron filled the battlefield as fireballs of red and green melted through some of the armor, until all that was left was the underneath of the enemies. They DID look like normal koopas...but different. Their skin was a silver grey, and their shells, each of them, were soffisticated and red, with a branding mark of a devilish face smack dab in the middle. "Listen here, you turtles." Mario put out his fireball, looking at the now defeated turtles as they backed away in fear.
(Mario) "You go back to your king and tell him he's got another thing coming to him if he's threatening children like this. NOW SCRAM!"
As soon as Mario said "scram," the koopa guards quickly ran off into the forested area. The brothers turned out victorious.
(Luigi) "YES! WE DID IT!"
Mario and Luigi were moments away from high-fiving, before...
(???) "YES! TAKE THAT, NASTY TURTLES! YOU HAVE BEEN OVERTHROWN BY MY LOYAL...RED AND GREEN KNIGHTS!"
