Chapter 49: the wrath of Eleanor Calder

Our heads shoot straight to the owner of the voice. We were all panicking for a second because it was a female’s voice that greeted us. But once we saw her, we all relaxed.

‘God, Jenna. We thought you were Eleanor.’ I sighed in relief. The brunette girl smirked at us for a second before wiping it away.

‘Ya’ll are so dead.’ She taunted. I dropped my head in my hands.

‘We know.’ Louis spoke up.

‘Well, we’re just gonna have to come clean.’ i concluded. Louis gasped and Harry’s eyes widened.

‘Are you serious?’ Louis said, shocked.

‘It’s the only option we have, Lou. We can’t just lie again, she’ll catch us. You guys are internationally famous, she’s bound to find out soon. Yeah, we’ll all end up dying but at least we told her the truth?’ I tell them. They all sighed defeatedly.

‘Nice pep talk, Ali. You’ll be a great motivational speaker.’ Jenna said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at her.

‘Okay, we’ll do it.’ Harry agreed.

‘Goodie, I’ll call her.’ I said, whipping out my phone.

‘Loudspeaker.’ Jenna announced and I clicked the loudspeaker button. As the dial tone went, I started to get more and more nervous.

‘Hey, Ali.’ Her calm, cheerful tone scared me more than what was coming.

‘Hey, El.’ I said, my voice shaking.

‘What’s wrong? You sound a little nervous.’ I took a deep breath.

‘Um, come to Harry’s suite. We have things to discuss.’

‘Okay, be there in ten.’ Her calm tone sounded even more dangerous.

‘S-see you there.’ I stuttered and she hung up.

‘Her calm voice scares me more than her screaming one.’ Harry voiced all of our thoughts.

‘Wellp, since I’m not part of this... adios muchachos. Good luck facing the wrath of Eleanor Calder.’ Then she was gone.

‘I feel stupid for being scared of El. But honestly, this is worse than your eighth grade teacher saying they’ll call your parents.’ Louis announced.

‘Eighth grade teachers aren’t scary. We’re in high school by then. Year 7 is when shit got real and they scared the living daylights out of you.’ I said, welcoming the distraction.

‘High school starts in seventh grade?’ Harry asked.

‘Yep. And let me tell you, seventh grade is where everything starts. You can’t change who you are in the next few years. You’re who you are in seventh grade all through high school.’ I tell them, remembering my year 7 days.

‘Seriously? Wow, it must have been scary going into seventh grade.’

‘It was. I became popular in year 7 so I was popular through my whole high school lives. Year 7 practically defines you.’

‘Australia is so interesting.’ Louis commented and I laughed.

‘Everything is different in Australia. There’s no queen bee’s or jocks or nerds or any of that. There is the occasional slut and desired guy but that’s all. And to be one of the popular people you practically have to have good grades. You don’t have to be pretty and you don’t have to be mean. When you’re popular, being nice has to happen. And if you’re a bully you go down, like everyone will start to give you a hard time because you gave someone else a hard time.’
