Chapter 20: the rest of our lives

Harry’s POV

I carried Alira all the way back to the house. It was like a 15 minute walk but I didn’t mind. I wasn't kidding when I said she weighed like a feather. I’m so glad that she agreed it was a date. I mean, I’ve never put so much effort in it. I want to win her over more than anything. The fact that she was so happy in the clearing I brought her to. And to find that she can sing, dance and do photography, I just... I’m falling for her so badly. I’ve never felt like this for a girl before. And when we kissed. I just want her to be mine, I’m sure she felt those fireworks too. The sparks literally slew.

As the house came into view, I got a little disappointed. It means my time with Ali is over. I stared at the house and looked at the third story, I’ve only been up there once. I remember seeing the extra bedroom and it was smaller than the rest on the second. That’s when I realised Jake could’ve slept there instead of the couch. I chuckled a bit.

‘What’s funny?’ Ali asked.

‘I just realised the third floor had an extra bedroom and Jake slept on the couch.’ I chuckled again.

‘Oh, that’s true!’ She laughed along.

Once we reached the steps leading to the door, Ali hopped off my back.

‘That truly was a perfect date. Thank you, Harry!’ She hugged me and went to kiss my cheek. But I twisted my head and kissed her lips instead. We stood there as the fire works exploded and our lips touching each others’.

‘Perfect end to a perfect date.’ I smiled at her as we pulled away.

‘Thank you, Harry.’ She whispered and took my hand. We both headed to the door.

The door burst open and there stood Jenna with an angry look and her arms folded over her chest.

‘You’re late.’ She said sternly. We both laughed at her as she pretended to be a mum.

‘Sorry, mum.’ Alira giggled. I squeezed her hand, her laugh makes me so giddy.

‘Anyway, we decided to go some shopping. Plus, I need to go shopping for the date Jake has in mind.’ She winked at Ali and went back inside the house.

‘I’m going to go change my outfit.’ She says, letting go of my hand.

‘Okay, but wait. I need to tell you something.’ I grabbed her hand again.

‘Okay, what’s up buttercup?’ She asks. I smile at her and let my heart do the talking.

‘I like you, Ali. I like you so much. I love how we can hold hands, I love the way how your fingers fit perfectly in between mine. I love how you giggle a lot even if it’s not that funny. I love how you can talk about anything and not care about what you’re saying. I love how you are so talented. I love how you really know what you want. I love how your brown eyes sparkle whenever you smile. I love how you run your hand absentmindedly through your strawberry blonde hair. And I love how you don’t mind telling me anything. I really want to be with you but I know that you like Louis as well. I just want you to know that whoever you pick, I will respect your decision and I will always be here for you no matter what. Because I think I’m in love with you. And I don’t care if it’s only been a few days since we met. I don’t care that we never really spent time together. I just care about you and spending my life with you, whether that’s being your best friend or being your husband. I just want you to know I’m always here.’ I smiled so big and I watched as tears filled her eyes and a smile break across her face.
