CHAPTER FIFTY SIX
CALEB
"Yeah I know." I smirked. "Just get here as quickly as you can."
I could practically feel Sam grinning, even though we were on the phone. "Don't worry, I'm not going to miss this." She paused. "So you're not going to let Alley in on this? It has practically been our battle this whole year."
It. Nice. I opened the door with one hand and instantly felt the air conditioner cool my sweated skin. "I think that she's been in this battle for too long. What she did to her... it's my turn for some pay back."
"Yeah, but doing this would mean the end."
I could see Sam's point but honestly... "I can't." I paused near my locker as soon as I saw who was approaching me. "I feel responsible for this."
"Why? You can't be responsible for her people a psycho bitch."
I laughed once. "Normally guys would be pretty happy to have two girls fighting over you but Alley means everything to me. For her to hurt her all year..." I locked eyes with the approaching figure. "It's my turn."
"Check mate." Sam laughed.
I grinned just as he stopped in front of me. "Just get here soon."
"I'm closer then you think." I snapped the phone closed. "Hayden, what are you doing here?"
He ignored my question. "I heard about you and Alley." He paused. "I'm happy that she's happy but.." His eyes stared intently into mine. "If you ever hurt her, I will be back."
"So you're hoping that I'll screw it up and you can have your chance as the hero?" I smirked. "Sorry Hayden but I'm never going to hurt her."
He smirked back. "Unlucky for me."
"Maybe its time to move on."
He shrugged. "It could be."
"What are you even doing here?" I frowned.
"Moving on." He smiled. "I've decided to drop out of Beverley Hills High, as entertaining as it is here... I think that there's a better place for me to go. But I'll be there at Mel's big bash tonight."
"You mean more girls where you don't have the reputation as an cheating asshole?" I laughed. "This has to be the best week of my life. Please, tell me that Blake is leaving as well."
"Hey! we weren't even going out." Hayden snapped. "And Blake isn't leaving."
"Dammit." I muttered. "Well, I hope that everything goes well for you."
Hayden's smirk reappeared. "You don't actually mean that."
"You're right." I smiled. "I don't."
"Laters Conner's." Hayden started walking but paused. "Remember what I said. You screw up and I'll be right back. She's an special one, take care of her."
I watched him disappear out the door. "I will." I muttered.
Finally. Everything was coming back together nicely. I had to be the most lucky guy in the world. Alley Sanders. My girlfriend.
No matter how many times I repeated those words in my head, they never sounded real.
Last night had been magical. God, I love her so much it hurts. Alley and I had spent the rest of the night dancing and kissing. I had never been so happy in my life.
There was this feeling that I experienced when I kissed her. My stomach would literally drop to the floor and I would get an type of electric spark that ran through my body. If that wasn't love, I didn't know what was.
I dialled the number in my phone. "Sam, where are you?"
"Right here." I turned around and grinned, though it fell. "What's she doing here?"
Sophia rolled her eyes. "You really didn't think I'd miss out on this did you? This is what I've been waiting for all year."
"This is what we've all been waiting for." Sam smiled. "Come on, we should get this over and done with. Your sleeping beauty will wake up soon and text you." She winked. "I was thinking... maybe we should go to Mel's big party bash tonight."
"And do what?" I frowned.
"Destroy it." She smirked evilly. Whoa, that was a scary smile.
"I can see why Alley went along with your plans all year." I cringed. "You smile like that again and I'll give you anything you want as long as you leave me alone."
Sophia laughed. "No its perfect. You can rub in your new perfect relationship."
"Alright fine." I sighed. "But as long as Alley wants to." I frowned at Sam. "But don't you think that what were about to do is enough pay back?"
"No." Sam snorted. "The hell she's put Alley and I through this year doesn't even compare to what were going to do today. Come on."
I lead them down the hallway and through to the front of the school where the assistant told us to wait. The three of us sat out side of the door. Sam played with her thumbs nervously while Sophia was grinning at the wall.
My phone vibrated in my pocket, causing me to jump. It was a text from 'Nerd Girl.' I grinned.
Hey :) what are you doing? xxoxo
I texted her back, Just sorting some stuff out, then I'll come over to yours. Love you. xoxox
Nerd Girl: My parents are out at the moment, maybe we could go to the park or something? xox I love you too !
I grinned to myself. You sure? we could stay at your house. ;)
Sam leaned over my shoulder, reading the messages. "You're gross!" She thumped my shoulder.
I laughed just as I received another text. Yes I'm sure ahah, I'll just meet you at the park in 20 mins. xoxo
I replied. Sounds good to me. See you soon :) xoxo
The receptionist suddenly stood in front of us. "He will see you now."
I grinned at Sophia and Sam. "Ready?"
"I was born ready for this." Sam muttered while Sophia nodded eagerly.
I felt them close behind me as I tucked my phone back in my pocket. Mr K, stared at us impatiently as we closed the door behind us. "Well, what is it?"
I stepped forward, feeling a smile curve my lips and my fingers tighten on the disc. "Mr K, theirs something you need to see."
