CHAPTER TWELVE

My first week finished in such a blur that I wondered if I'd even finished my first day. I sat down at the kitchen bench munching on a packet of chips nervously waiting for my mum to come in the door. It was after school and I was still sadly, wearing my school uniform. Mum walked into the kitchen with a surprised look on her face when she saw me.

"It's a Friday." She said, laying down a bag of groceries on the bench.

"I know what day it is." I grumbled.

Her eyebrows rose higher and she leaned against the bench, facing me. "All I meant was, shouldn't Sam be here?" I shrugged and stared at the marbled table in front of me. "What's wrong honey?"

My cheeks flushed and I stared at the pattern. "I have a date and I have no idea what to wear."

I looked up and a look of pure shock covered her features, she quickly recovered herself. "A date with who?"

"Blake." I said the name with enough venom that she actually bit her lip to keep from laughing.

"And this is a bad thing?"

I sighed an exaggerated sound. "Were double dating with Caleb and his girlfriend."

She looked at me for a long moment and I was about to ask what was wrong before she said, "Well I guess that we should find you something to wear. I'll go and call Helen and you can go and take a shower."

I blow dried my hair, standing in front of the mirror with just a towel around myself.

Sam ran into the room and sat down at the bench. "Excited?" She squealed.

"Sam walk out of my bathroom and look up the word privacy."

She shrugged. "I've known you since I was like three, we used to run around naked together."

"I don't remember that." I said, rolling my eyes at her.

"I do, it was the best day of my life." She sighed dramatically.

"You are so weird." I groaned, turning off the drier. I pushed her out of the bathroom and was about to put on my clothes till I realised that they were on my bed so instead I put on the essential underwear and bra. I sung at the top of my lungs 'Skyscraper' by Demi Lavato.

"You're a terrible singer!" Sam called through the door.

"I'm amazing and you know it." I said, walking out of the bathroom. I stared at the clothes on my bed.

"Wow." Sam laid next to them, she was holding something in her hand and when I stared at it longer I sucked in a breath. "Sam!" I squealed. "You're reading my diary!"

"No shit." She shrugged.

I snatched it out of her hand. "That's private!"

She smirked at me. "Caleb Conners is almost god like. I had a dream last night that he kissed me, I've never had anyone kiss me before but I can't help imagining..."

"Stop!" I yelled cutting her off, I angrily shoved the diary into my bedside draw and grabbed my clothes.

I changed into the red skirt and the silky white patterned top. It all clung to my body and made my shape look better than it was. My boobs fit comfortably in the top but enough that they didn't pop out too much. If I was being honest with myself, I hardly ever wore anything like this usually I just wore shorts and a baggy top. It's been a while since I'd worn any type of skirt or dress.

Sam knocked on the door. "Alley, I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you."

"Go away." I sighed brushing my hair.
