Chapter 3
After the teacher calmed the mob down, we all sat in our respective seats and watched as he wrote his name. This... is bad. I was in the same class as two queens and Okasawa. If it were just Okasawa, then I'd be happy, but the queens too?! This sucks!
*Klak. Klak.*
As for why it sucks, the reason is simple. The queens are so widely regarded and treated so well that I've grown to look at them in disgust. Since no matter what they did, they were able to get away with it. But why? Just because they were pretty? It's stupid! They're human just like the rest of us, so why do they get to live such an easy life in this school?
*Klak. Klak.*
And also... personal reasons. But in the end, I don't like the queens. I even made it a point to achieve the title of king without resorting to the power of the queen title. If I were to become king, it'll be with my power and mine alone! And Okasawa will be the one I ask out! My plan is perfect!
*Klak!*
The teacher finally stopped writing. Huh? Why is there so much written on the board?
"So... we have quite a few changes that are being made to the school system. The first is that the usual system of being in one class is no longer being implemented."
Wait. What?
"You'll now have seven different classes. Each with a completely different class. The principal believes that this will help you all connect with the rest of your classmates."
So did our clubs lose their entire meaning or something?!
"The next is that we'll no longer be taking the school year in trimesters. Instead, it'll be split into two semesters. One fall. One spring."
Wait, wait, wait! This is totally different from a typical Japanese school! Instead, it's like we're attending a western school!
"Ah. Our current principal was educated in a western school. That's why so many different changes are being implemented."
Just who in their right mind approved all this?!
"That being said. This is your first class. I am your teacher, Honikawa Eigesu. It's a pleasure to meet you all."
I stood up and bowed along with the rest of the students, but... I was still trying to wrap my head around all this. In my first year, everything was normal. Trimesters. Single classrooms. The only strange thing was the lack of school uniforms and prom. But I was okay with that since I hated school uniforms and the idea of becoming king sounded appealing to me. But now... what the heck am I supposed to do?!
"Open your textbooks to page thirteen. We'll begin today's class with some simple element identification."
...
"To identify the element with just the atom, you only need to look at the number of protons in the atom. If there are eight total protons in the atom, the element will be oxygen. If there are fifteen total protons in the atom, the element will be phosphorous."
"..."
"A way to figure out the total number of protons is using the atomic number. The atomic number represents the number of protons in each element. As you can see here. This element has-."
"*Yawn!*"
Man. Could this class get any more boring? I'm already beginning to fall asleep despite getting my regular eight hours of sleep since I wanted to be in the best condition for Okasawa. Sigh... Speaking of which. Wonder how Okasawa was taking all this?
