Waking up for Reina wasn't even close to how she was used to. Even though she was here she had been expecting to wake up alone. Instead of waking up in peace and quiet, Reina's head snapped to the side, waking her up sharply with her cheek stinging and she was stunned. She was finally able to realize that there was a new man in front of her. He smiled when he saw she was awake and made another go at her face.

Blood dripped over her swollen eye, her vision unsteady now that the right side of her vision was clear. She spat out the blood in her mouth and closed her eyes against the pulsing pain in her skull. She wished she could already be used to the pain and abuse, but they never gave her a chance, her captors would allow her just enough time to heal the majority of her wounds then they would plaster her body with new wounds.

They were very creative with their punishments. They had been switching on and off for what felt like days that felt like months. She didn't know anymore as she hadn't been allowed to sleep or escape in the blackouts she tried to stay in. Cold water would splash across her face, forcing her into back into awareness.

The man shook out his hand and braced it to land a blow to her stomach making her double over and dry heave. The black haired man huffed and puffed at the exertion of hitting her again and again. His grey eyes that watched her were unceasingly cold, devoid of any human compassion.

"So rat, 'ave you had 'nough for t'day?" He asked coolly.

Struggling to move her cut lips for a moment, she finally rasped, "Yes... you know that I don't want to be hurt anymore."

Finally showing some other emotion other than abject hate or inhumane cold, he let out a bellowing laugh, "There we are deary! Now a 'nother question for ya, what 'ave we learned after all this?"

"I knowingly crossed the border without His Majesties permission. I know I made a huge mistake and must be stupid if I cannot follow His Majesties simplest orders. I should be grateful for all the...time... spent on teaching me that." Her lips started to bleed again. She swallowed hard and hoped that her answer was enough to make him stop, if even for a moment.

Straightening up the man smirked, satisfied. " 'Bout time ya idiot. If ya would 'ave just admitted that in tha biginnin' then ya wouldn'ta had to go through this for so long. Welp, anyway, now that ya know that, maybe now the young Prince'll decide you've learned your less'n. Guess I'll be lettin' 'im know now." Turning around he left her alone in the small room.

Reina, who had been collapsed in the only chair in the room, slid to the ground in relief. She didn't care that the silver chains tied around her wrists cut into her. She took solace in the fact that she could rest, at least for the moment. She had until Adonis decided what he wanted to do with her. She pushed even that thought away, wanting to relish in the temporary solitude.

Breathing slowly she turned on her side and letting the cold floor cool her fevered head, she thought. Her father still hadn't come for her which meant that he probably wouldn't be able to come back and get her. 'How long has it even been already? Surely it's already been a week now? I wonder if my father is even looking for me now... probably not, once he realized that I wasn't coming he probably had to leave.' A sudden dark thought crossed her mind, and she shuddered at the horrid thought, maybe he had abandoned her and decided to flee for his own life, cutting his losses? 'No way, even on our worst day father would never abandon me... I'm sure he's trying to figure out how to help.' Either way, she really didn't want to know, any hope she gave herself was just another opportunity to slip farther into the depths of despair.

As she lay there a small fire lit in her, there was a nagging that kept pulling her thoughts. The only part that bothered her now was the fact that so far she hadn't really tried to fight back. But... did it even matter if she fought? This was His Majesties personal 'secret police', nobody knew how many of them there were and they were the only ones who were trained to fight in the 'old ways', the way they used to fight during the war. So she was pretty sure that she was a goner anyways, was it really worth it to fight when she was so unprepared?
