Chapter 27 - Every person has a reason for being their own way

"By agreeing to accept my loan, you accept the condition I proposed?"

Ashley snorted. "That condition will only come into effect after you manage to remove Gio and save Summer Diner."

"Oh no, Ashley, that will be taking advantage of me." He slowly crowded her until her back hit the door. He had released her wrist, only for his hands to rest on the door behind her, caging her between his arms.

Ashley straightened her back, refusing to cower. "You had not said when the condition needed to be fulfilled. That's your fault."

Sean chuckled. "Right, it's my fault. But I had yet to give the money to you."

Ashley frowned. "Resorting to threats now, Mr. Donovan?"

"Not at all. I'm just looking out for my benefits before we sign our agreement contract." Sean smirked down at her. "But I can wait until everything is settled before you need to fulfill the condition."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Put that into writing too." She was not willing for him to change his mind or play tricks with them halfway through their cooperation.

"So little trust?"

"You do not have a stellar record when it comes to promises," she retorted.

"Fine, I will include that in the contract. But for now, let me get some early payment first."

Ashley was caught off guard when he suddenly swooped down and captured her lips. She had foolishly allowed him to taste her lips before she broke out of her trance to start fighting him off.

"Umm!" When she could not push him away, she pressed her mouth closed tightly, but as someone that was used to breathing mostly from her mouth, she could not hold on for long.

Sean did not let go of this chance and slipped his tongue into her gasping mouth. Like a tyrant, he relentlessly conquered her territory, from her lips to her tongue, mixing their breaths and saliva together. He even held onto the back of her neck, not allowing her to pull away from their heated kiss that sparked all their senses.

They kissed until her mind grew dizzy from lack of oxygen, where she could not even remember to resist. Not only that, she had even actively participated in the kiss, both fighting not for dominance, but to imprint on one another once again.

He did not go any further than kissing and reluctantly parted from her. It was not enough after tasting her sweetness again, but it would have to do for now if he did not want Ashley to hate him even more.

Seeing her misty eyes filled with lust and her red lips from their kiss, he had to physically take a step back before he lost control of his reasoning and devoured her right against the door. Only he himself knew how he longed to have her shiver under him and beg him with her cute mewl to do her hard.

After more or less gaining control over his desire, he asked, "Ashley, will you tell me the truth about you and Gio Aiolos?"

Seeing the dazed look disappear from her, Sean was a little disappointed.

"What are you talking about?"

"I know there is more than what you told Kyle, and your father refuses to say much other than him being your ex-boyfriend."

"You do not need to know more than Gio threatening our business with unethical moves."
