✿ Background ✿

Particularly gifted since early age, Rhys was taught under the loving eyes of his parents. While still young Rhys had his abilities better under control than any other mutant in his community. He was cared for by all Prewetts until the tragic death of his father, Jonathan Prewett tore apart the loving and care-giving home.

Rhys watched how his mother drove herself into alcohol addiction, living out her frustrations and grief on her barely 7 year old son. While not growing violent Rhys suffered emotional abuse that caused his dedicated control to crack. Anxious, afraid and alone Rhys would lose control bit by bit.

While social services took Rhys away by the age of 8, his uncle Brendan Prewett fought over the custody of his nephew. No longer bearing the sight of how much his brother's wife was tearing apart Rhys fragile childhood. But the court decided differently, Brendan was denied custody and Rhys was sent back to his mother. Enraged about Rhys wanting to stay with Brendan rather than with his own mother she started to engage in violent domestic abuse.

Rhys suffered in silence, covering his bruises with lies until he snapped. At his 14th birthday his mother would start burning his skin with candle wax, screeching as Rhys tried to get away from her. His abilities manifested upon the negative trigger and Rhys released a quick spreading ice that locked every being and material in a thick eternal lasting ice. Rhys himself remained unharmed from the ice but could not quite fathom what happened. He remained in the house for days, barely coping when Brendan picked Rhys up and left the town. The government on their tail after word spread about a town of ice.

Rhys is very well aware that his release of manifestation caused dozens of his kin to be slaughtered, only because Brendan hid him so well and the government wanted to set a sign that things like these cannot and will not happen again.

He had spent every day since then with Brendan, hidden away in a small refugee camp of other supernaturals that had escaped the government.

He wears gloves to prevail his hands from touching anyone, although sometimes the gloves itself will freeze and Rhys will fall into a state of panic and only starts resting when his hands are covered.

✿ Abilities ✿

As someone with Cryokinesis, Rhys absorbs, controls, manipulates, generates and creates ice, snow and other forms of frozen water. This also allows him to freeze objects/beings with his breath alone or a single touch. He is also immune to low temperatures and can regulate his body temperature, he can also lower the temperature down to almost freezing, around him by controlling the kinetic atoms.

Frigokinesis allows Rhys to control snow that has already fallen or is falling, that ability is limited by seasons of course.

He can mimic his own body to be completely ice although this state makes him incredibly fragile to opponents.
