Draco
10:35 pm.I awoke to the smell of smoke.
I was greeted by the blackening sight of smoke and ash flooding into Harry's room.
My first instinct was to reach over and grab the raven-haired boy, but he wasn't there. My heart sank.
I threw my body onto the floor, keeping myself low as I desperately searched the room floor for Harry, but all I found was a cloth. I used it to cover my mouth and nose as I crawled out of the room, wheezing and choking on the waves of smoke. It was like walking through a forest at midnight. I hadn't a clue where I was, where to go, and I ended up tripping and tumbling down the stairs. Luckily, I wasn't harmed. The door was the left of the stairs, so I quickly stood up and opened it, letting the smoke pour out onto Privet Drive. Neighbors had already started running over to see what was going on, more obsessed with the fire than the people coming out of it.
My eyes gazed at the street, searching the mob of people for harry...When I didn't find him, I knew he must have still been inside. Despite the screams of the people outside, I sprinted back inside, feeling my way down the walls until I found myself in the open spot where the kitchen and sitting room met. I felt my foot hit something, and I reached down, feeling the charred and crispy hair of Harry.
My arm slung under his shoulders, hoisting him up as I dragged the burned boy out of the house. He fell limp and motionless at my side.
The paramedics were already there when I found my way out.
They took him quickly, and my stomach ached. His once olive skin was burned, and it melted off like plastic where his clothing once was. His glasses were gone, and his face was heavily gashed and melted horrifyingly.
"What are you doing?! Help him!" I shouted, pushing one of the paramedics as they were feeling the boy's neck. They only gave me sympathetic looks.
"Im sorry-'
"Get him to the hospital!"
"He's gone-"
"DO YOUR BLOODY JOB AND GET HIM TO THE HOSPITAL," I screamed at the team of paramedics, who all winced at my tone. I saw the body bag come from the back of the truck.
Hell...
No.
Body bags were for the dead. Harry was not dead. Harry was going to live. Harry needed to live.
I snatched the body bad from their hands, throwing it in the nearby bush.

I sat on the sidewalk as the paramedics zipped Harry's body up into the bag, loading him up onto the truck. I fought the team of seven until my body was physically unable, and I made myself sick. There was only one paramedic left, and she was checking on me. I was put onto an air mask for a while, but they didn't take me to the hospital. I hadn't had any injuries, which I thought was utter bullshit.
Why did I get to come out unharmed, but Harry leaves in a body bag?
Why did harry break our promise? Why did he leave our safe space?
Our Island.
Most importantly, how the hell did the fire start?
I wondered this for a while, but by the end, I wasn't able to think of anything.
I left myself wondering down the highway, the muggle cars zooming past me as I stayed on the walking path. My hands dug into my pockets, and my eyes burned with hot tears. My cheeks were streaked red from crying. My hands were bruised from trying to fight off the paramedics so hard, and my head ached from my mindless wondering.
That's when the bright lights of a near park caught my eye. It was on the other side of the highway. It reminded me of the playgrounds my mother used to take me to when I was younger. I always played gladiators on the monkey bars.
All I had to do to reach it was cross the street.
So, I stepped forward, walking into the street without an arm to hold me back.
Without a will to survive.
With a will to soon see Harry.
The last thing I saw was the light of a muggle car's headlights.
