Harry
4:20 amWe spent most of the train ride to London in silence. There was no subject to share, and honestly, I was afraid that anything would start a nasty bicker between us. It seemed like it was a norm between us. This was a nine hour train ride that I spent t either reading or practicing small spells that wouldn't interfere with anything on the train.
occasionally, I Felt Malfoys eyes on me. and occasionally, my eyes were the ones on him. This was a civil moment between us, and it was sort of scary...Although I doubt Malfoy would try anything now that his lowly companions weren't with him...speaking of which.
"Did you say goodbye to your friends?" I suddenly broke the silence, and I saw Malfoy jolt.
"Friends? I see them more as...Followers." His tone was calm for once. "It never even crossed my mind. I dont think I'll be missed."
"You don't know that, Malfoy." I started to unwrap a Calderon cake. "It never crossed my mind either...I was too caught in the thought of dying that I didn't even bother waking up Ron."
"Blaise asked where I was going. I just shrugged and left." Malfoy turned to face me. "It is non of their business anyways, so who cares?"
"I suppose..."
"But you. Your friends will worry. Unless McGonagall tells them when they wake up- which I doubt she will do." Malfoy sighed. I saw his hands running through his hair. "I never see your three separated...I wonder how the school will react to the Golden Trio turning into the Golden Duo."
"Will probably be a lot more peaceful." I chuckled.
"yeah, without you getting them in trouble."
"I dont ever drag them into anything. they drag themselves into it!" I took a bite of the cake, turning so I could face Malfoy. He was picking at his cuticles on his fingers, not paying attention to me any longer.
"Doesn't matter...they still get into trouble for your actions." Malfoy laughed. "Like sneaking out of the castle- Venturing into the Forbidden Forest, putting your name in the Goblet of Fire-"
"I didn't out my name in it! We both know that was a prank pulled by one of the 7th year students!"
"It doesn't matter, Potter. Whenever something happens at school, it's usally always your fault." Malfoy sneered. "But now, they won't have to worry about that anymore."
"And they won't have to worry about you anymore." I turned so I could lay across the bench once more, finishing the cake. "School will be a lot more peaceful without our constant bickering."
"I suppose..."
There was a break of silence. I stared out the window, and Malfoy picked at a part of the seat that was coming undone. It seemed our conversations always turned into something insulting at one point or another.
I sighed, running my fingers through my hair, which was tangled and messy.
"Let's just...try to get along, okay? Our end day doesn't need to be filled with negativity." I looked at Malfoy, and he nodded. "there are a ton of places that we can go. There is a place where Deckers can go to experience something that they were never able to do in their life. Skydiving, swimming with sharks, Racing in race cars, and a lot more." Malfoy finally looked up to look at me.
"I'm sorry, but I haven't a clue what most of that stuff is." Malfoy raised his eyebrows, looking away. "That kind of thing sounds expensive though.." And he was right. It was 200 pounds and a bunch of paperwork for just one person.
"Well...thats okay. It's not like we'll be needed the money in the future anyways."
He didn't find that very funny.
