A special chapter suddenly comes out of my mind. It's still the same event and time as the Disneyland trip. I decided to make it a chapter. I hope you guys enjoy :)
Robyn's POV
"How nice they've given us our favorite color," I commented while I was taking a bite of our cotton candy with a mixture of pink and blue color.
"We're lucky these are the color of the day." Abigail moaned and savor the taste of cotton candy with her eyes close. "So nostalgia, I always craving for cotton candy whenever I was spending time in a theme park with my parents."
"I'll look for nuggets whenever I have fun in the theme park and my mum keeps nagging I ate too much junk food, but my dad said just give me eat whatever I want." I chuckled, "At the end, my mum keep saying my dad spoiled me too much and my dad said I and my mum were the only people he would always spoil."
"Speaking of our family," Abigail smiled as my smile grew wider when I saw our parents were walking toward us with our kiddos.
Everything was nostalgic for me whenever I thought of I always walked in between them and they were holding my hand's side to side. And now, they were holding Archie while Abigail's parents were doing the same holding Eddie.
"Moms!" Our kids ran toward us and we were having a group hug.
"I don't have so much energy to get Eddie, he's so hyper like you," My mum laughed and added, "Good for you to exercise whenever you're having an outing with him."
"You're out of shape, mum." I pulled away from our kids and Archie said shyly, "Um... Can I go to the bathroom?"
"Let's go, sweetie," Anna said and stretched her hand to Archie.
"I'm going with you, Anna," My mum said as she joined them to go to the bathroom.
Our dads were sitting on a bench next to us and Eddie asked Abigail with a grin, "Mummy, can we go to buy a Dale plush toy for Archie? I wanna give him a surprise. Just now he was looking at Dale quite a long time."
"Yes, let's go with pops." Abigail smiled at Eddie as she smiled at me and I got what she meant.
We thought it was a great time for us to spend time and have a little chat with our dads. We would do that once in a while whenever we were having our family outing.
She went to our dad's side and asked Alex to join them. With that, they bid us goodbye and went to the souvenir store.
I walked to my dad's side and joined him. I wrapped my arms around his arm and said, "I miss you, dad."
I have so many things wanted to share with him, I always stuck and had no idea where to start.
My dad chuckled as he gently pecked my forehead, "I always miss you, baby girl."
We laughed together and I said, "You know what, while I'm watching you and mum walking toward us with Archie, I reflect a lot about us and miss our old time. Even though you were already tired, you insisted want to be my companion to take the ride that I wanted."
He chuckled, "Of course, I would never want to disappoint my baby girl."
I finally decided to share this with him. Abigail and I had been worried, but never bring this out to either of our parents.
I rested my head on his shoulder and sighed, "Dad,"
"Yes, baby girl?"
"You know what, most of the kids living with a mum and a dad. Ab and I worried Eddie and Archie will feel they're different someday."
"You should worry less." my dad reassured me with a smile which I always feel calm.
"Now they're happy, but I'm not sure how would they react after they get mocked or insulted by the people they meet in the future."
"Do you want to hear something from me?"
"Sure, dad."
"How do you feel whenever you're with us?"
"I feel safe, carefree, and love from you guys."
"Now, do you still have the same feeling to us?"
"Never change, dad. I'll always love you and mum with all my heart."
"What do you think about Eddie and Archie? Do you wanna hear what they have told me about Abby and you?"
"Must be all about Abby good and my funny and clumsy story, dad." I chuckled.
My dad said gently, "No, they told me that how their mothers are so incredible to them. They said their classmates always told them they need a father to do something women can't do like changing the light bulbs, plumbing, and other handy work at home. But, Eddie said he proudly to tell their classmate that their mothers had learned to fix the house with zero experience and now they are an expert."
I laughed and said, "Did they tell you I fall like a big potato just changed a light bulb dad?"
"They did, but they told me they feel sad and worried to see you get hurt while you were fixing the light bulb."
"They also told me that, they don't need a father, because they're having two incredible mothers who love them with all their heart. Also, they said you and Abby are the great role of parents."
"They told me they want to be an awesome parent or father to their kids like you and Abby. They wanted their kids to know how incredibly are their mothers too just like the day you and Abby shared the vow."
My dad gently wiped off my tears with his thumb and said softly, "I just want you to know, once they have so much love from you and Abby, their mind will never change no matter now. Just like how you think about your mum and me."
"I'm proud of you and Abby to share so much love for Eddie and Archie. You and Abby should be proud of yourself too."
"Dad, just tell me if I need to have any improvement."
"You don't have to be told, you'll eventually improve with Archie, Eddie, and Abby. Having a family is not to be a perfect parent, but to learn from each other. I have learned so much from you and your mum too, baby girl."
My dad gently peck my temple and said, "If you think I'm a good father of yours, I'm proud to tell you that I've learned to be a good father from you and your mum."
I buried my face to my dad's shoulder with my arms wrapped around him and cried, "I'm sorry, dad. I shouldn't doubt myself too much. I should be proud to be a good mom to my family."
My dad chuckled and gently patted my head, "That's good, just be yourself. There's something you have from your mum is, she gives so much love to us."
"Thanks, dad for all of this. I feel so much better," I said.
At this moment, I felt relief after I had shared this with my dad. I shouldn't doubt about our kids too. I pulled away from him and I quickly wiped off my tears with the back of my hands.
My dad laughed softly at me, "No matter what happens to you, you'll always be my baby girl, and remember I'll always got your back."
I gave him an embrace as my tears rolled down my cheek again. My nose started running and I said in my crack voice, "I love you, dad."
"I love you too, baby girl."
