Y/n POV:
week 3 of trying to get my memories back, I am starting to remember more slowly but of course every time I do the voice in my head gets louder and I start freezing more and for longer periods of time.
Everyone is getting tired, I can tell.. Tony and Bruce are still trying a way to fix me. Nick has not spoken to me since I arrived, I don't know if its guilt, anger or he just can't bare to see me.
I am yet to learn the name of the man whos voice haunts my mind, I just call him Frank to make it easier. He doesn't like the name though.
The worse thing is I can't tell anyone I remember them, that I know who they are. I can't get them to clarify things because if they know, if I acknowledge out loud I am remembering Frank will make me do something, to hurt the people I love.
Which brings us to now
I realized Frank can hear and see the things I see and hear. Meaning the only way he listen to me is if I can hear myself. If that makes sense.
So I am testing something.
"Jarvis you ready?"
"I am ready Ms, do you want me to lock all access to your room and the security feed?"
"Yes please now just to recap, I will put these ear muffs on so I won't be able to hear anything. But I will ask you questions to which you will respond by displaying a color in front of me?" I double check, Jarvis makes the wall in front of me turn green, meaning yes/correct/done.
I smile and put the earmuffs on and start speaking to see if I can hear myself.
"hello? testing?" I say and I do a little fist pump when I can't here myself and Jarvis displays a smiley face making me laugh.
"ok lets start uh I don't know what exactly I am saying so I hope you understand me yes?" wall turns green. I nod ok lets start
"can you do a cross reference with Hydra agents named Sean and see if you can identify the man in charge please" the wall turns yellow meaning Jarvis is doing what I asked and will have to wait.
"ok while you do that can you do a quick scan using the hydra USB replica and the scanner I installed, to identify how much of my memory is restored please" again the wall goes yellow.
Its not long before the wall goes green with the number two, meaning the second task is completed.
"ok display the percent restored please" the wall stays green by in stead of a two, 48% appears on the screen. Ok 48% restored not bad.
"ok Jarvis now do a more detailed scan, to see how Frank is connected to me" the wall turns yellow. I nod
"hey Jarvis can you play music through these earmuffs, I am assuming Tony created them with many controls" the wall turns green and music starts flooding my ears making me nod and dance while I wait
The wall turns green and brings up a picture of a potato chip?
"Jarvis what does- oh" I realize they mean I have a chip in me somewhere
"where is it J?" a picture of my eye and ear pops up. I scrunch my face up.
"can it be removed by surgery" the wall turns green I nod
"ok whilst I trust Tony and Bruce, I think this requires Helen Cho and maybe Simmons, do you mind forwarding the information on to them and letting them know the situation" the wall turns yellow again. And rather than sitting around I stand and start dancing and miming the lyrics into the mirror
yes kind of weird but hey. Its the little things in life
looking into the mirror I see Tony laughing. I turn and see that the wall is blue. I curse
"J hide the information" I whisper
"ok taking it off in 3...2..." I take the earmuffs/headphones nervously hearing the room silent I relax.
"Well that was entertaining" Tony claps I glare
"I am glad you enjoyed the show, now what brings you here?" I ask he takes a seat on the end of my bed, making me sigh
"please make yourself comfortable"
"I am here to help reignite the spark in your heart that once loved me" he says trying to be poetic. I look at him unimpressed
"I just want to spend time with you, ok?" he asks I smile
"ok, I mean while your here" I put the earmuffs on making him raise his eyebrow, I laugh
"ok give me a moment, don't judge me just wait" I stress making him amused. he says something but I roll my eyes
"I can't hear you dumbass" I point to the earmuffs he sighs and pulls out some ear piece from his pocket
"Jarvis you got us connected buddy?" he asks I nod, the wall turns green making Tony confused.
"ok what is going on?" hey says standing up.
"so hear me out ok, Jarvis send Tony the data" I watch as Tony pulls his phone out.
"you remember?" he asks I shake nod my head
"no I don't" he look at me confused
"Jarvis can you help explain" Jarvis displays a picture of a ear and a man talking. I see Tony is still confused.
"ok I need you to disconnect I can't hear you or myself explain this ok?" I say he takes his earpiece out confused. Once I know I can't hear him or myself I start explaining
"so I do remember some things, I have restored almost 48% of my memory" I say he looks at me shocked. he asks Jarvis something to which Jarvis displays how on the wall. Making me smile
"well I have been making progress with the team when they help me, but uh there is a chip in my eye and ear, and it allows the main guy, who I nicknamed Frank to hear and see the things I see and hear" he nods wanting me to continue
"all of this I just worked out today FYI, but have you noticed I like freeze whenever someone brings up my memories?" he nods
"yeah well Frank starts communicating whenever he hears me making progress, which is why I am wearing these earmuffs, anyway when he freezes me he threatens me and stuff so I have to pretend to not remember, get it?" I ask nervously
He looks at me softly and walks toward me and nods
"so yeah uh I sent the information about surgery to Cho and Simmons" he continues to nod and takes my earmuffs off. I look at him with wide eyes, unsure what he is going to do.
"can you please relax I am not going to do anything stupid" he says making me laugh. He smiles and hugs me. I hug him back, I still don't quite remember the extent to our relationship. But I know that we did date so I trusted him. Meaning I should be able to trust him with this.
"well I will go and talk to the others so they know about the uh... party" he makes up as he knows Frank can hear, I smile and nod
"looking forward to it, ensure Helen and Simmons get invited as well" he nods and smiles before heading toward the door
'Soldier when is this party going to be?' Frank says I laugh making Tony turn around, Jarvis puts the word Frank on the wall behind, me allowing for Tony to realize and walk back over to me
"well you wasted no time, Frank"
'Please don't call me that, and I ask again when is the party?'
"The party is Friday night by the way Y/n at 6 pm so don't be late" Tony says loud enough so Frank could hear
'I guess we will meet soon Y/n" Frank says before allowing me to move. I look at Tony and nod.
"call me if you need anything ok?" he says seriously. I nod
"Thank you Tony" and with that he left
