Their luck was that chest knife creatures tried to fight them and as Crimson and Lilith stood in the middle and drew aside a lot of times the creatures managed to successfully kill themselves instead of their victims. When only three of them were left Lilith picked one of the knives up from the ground with her one hand left and jammed it into the leg of the one enemy which stood next to her.
The tones of screeching got louder and they reached even higher frequencies. Consequently, Lilith let go of the knife and wanted to protect at least one of her ears from the noise.
Crimson didn't think much but took his mace and slammed it into the face of another creature which hadn't been slain by one of its fellows. It died immediately and the brother and sister only had to concentrate on those two creatures left.
One scrape for Lilith later she had killed both of their last enemies for this fight.
"Let's leave this place, Crimson," the young man heard his sister's soft voice. "You couldn't believe how beautiful the nature around us is if I told you, but there's no time for that; we don't know when the next creatures will show up."
They had fought on a wide lawn with small hills, a nearby forest and flowers in every color you could think of which did a great job at embellishing the huge park they were at. There were humming bees and tons of small, pink and green and yellow butterflies. The sky was blue and no clouds were to be seen. The sun shone and gave the world a touch of peace.
Illusional peace, if you'd ask Crimson, because everything he'd be able to pay attention to if he still had his vision would be the traces the creatures had left: They had moved through the ground as if it didn't exist, but as soon as they had stood on the lawn again their feet had damaged some big parts of the grass. Now they weren't nice to look at anymore.
"I'll go to the Erithian Forest, walk through it and take a bus to Hedmontan's Square," Lilith continued after she had paused because she realized that her brother had been lost in his own thoughts for a bit. "It'll be on the northwest side of the next province I'll reach if I walk through the forest. But first I have to get there..."
"I'm sorry," Crimson interrupted her sister revealing her plan for him. "Where will I be in that time? You're talking about what you're going to do as if I wouldn't be part of it."
Lilith sighed. "That's the part I'm most afraid of to explain to you. It's because you're blind; I contacted a few members of the Celyntra. They'll be here in half an hour and..."
"No, they won't," Crimson responded.
"I know you don't like to hear this, but to get involved into any fight would be too dangerous for you," Lilith said. "I beg you to face the facts, Crimson. You're blind and that'll make it way easier for the creatures to kill you."
"But they won't! he replied. I know they wont! Please, Lilith"
She raised an eyebrow - what her brother couldn't see of course. "What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about everything I've gone through in the Kathrenian universe till this moment as I'm standing here talking to you," Crimson answered. "Have you ever wondered why I'm still alive? I didn't even believe I would get that far - and still I did!"
"That's what I'm saying," Lilith responded, totally unrelenting. "You got that far already, so now is a good time for you to relax and let the others do the rest of the work for you. You have done enough and you can be proud of yourself for that."
Crimson shook his head really hard. "No, you don't understand."
"I do, I..."
"Let me explain, alright?"
