I studied my stomach through my bathroom mirror.
Nothing looks wrong at least.
I raised my arms over my head and gave myself a much needed stretch.
"Ah, that feels good."
I looked back to my stomach and gripped the right side with some force.
Good, no pain at all. It's completely healed.
I walked back out of my bathroom, to my bed, and put on my shirt.
What a relief. To be honest, that bruise made me dread going to meet the trio. Postponing my own workout is whatever, but I can't say no to those three, even if it's for working out. I thought it would be easy to toughen it out, but any atypical movements triggered it. It hurt like crap.
"But now is the return of prime Tucker!" I announced to my empty room.
Prime Tucker? Ami asked.
Yes, prime Tucker. This is when I'm at peak fitness. Stronger and faster than I've ever been, I boasted.
It took a minute, but I think I've adjusted to having a ten year old talk inside of my mind from time to time. I thought I'd go insane but honestly she's well-mannered and inquisitive. The only problem with her I'd say is her lack of confidence, which I honestly don't know how to fix.
Prime Ami? She inquired.
Prime Ami, huh? I don't know, have you ever been weak?
Ami has always been able to hit hard.
Then you just need to get stronger so you can be prime Ami. Then together, we can conquer the world!
R-really?
Pssh, no. I don't got no over-the-top fancy goals like that. I'm just tryna be the best Tucker I can be.
A brief silence passed before she replied. T-then I'll be the best Ami I can b-be.
There ya go! Then they'll all know what you're about. All the other demon weapons will fear the name, Ami! I plastered on a serious expression and my fist burst into the air, shaking wildly to sell my point.
She giggled.
Before I do anything else, I guess I should see how Arthur's doing. I told Mary I'd talk to him, but he really is a ghost. After class, he leaves immediately. And outside of class, he's never here anymore. And any time I try to call him it says he has no service.
But, it's bright and early Saturday morning. There's no way my brother could resist sleeping in on a day off. Today I'd the day I finally catch him.
I flung my door open, took a step forward, and felt a force crash into my chest and bounce off. On closer inspection, it was Veronica, her prominent hair drills as neat as ever.
"Oh, my b." I offered her a hand.
She shot me a dejected gaze. She ignored my offer, instead pushing herself up and dusting off her maid outfit. "I just washed this last night..." she mumbled.
"I'm really sorry," my laugh came out more awkward then intended.
She sighed. "It's fine."
"You sure?"
"It's fine!" She roared.
"Alright, alright, I get it." She can be so quick to anger. "Anyways, have you seen Arthur?"
"Hm? Yeah, he left an hour ago."
"An hour ago?" Arthur, waking up early? What madness is this?
"Yes, an hour ago. Why, is something wrong?" She asked suspiciously.
