Welp, here goes.
I lightly knocked on the door but there was no movement inside. Ten seconds breezed by and nothing.
Does she often ignore everyone who knocks?
A couple seconds later, the door slowly creaked open. Golden locks revealed themselves as Olivia inched her head out. Upon seeing it was me, her curious expression quickly switched to a scowl.
"What do you want?" She interrogated.
"Umm, well for one, I want to talk again."
"I don't want to talk. You're a headache." She was about to slam the door when saw what I had in my hands: a silver tray with two plates with silverware lined next to it and a cup of orange soda.
"W-why do you have that?" She cried.
I shot her a wide grin. "Ezra was busy with tasks so he asked me to deliver your meal."
She cracked the door open a little more and stretched out her hand. "Gimme."
I shook my head. "Only if you give me a chance to talk."
Her eyes went from a calming sea to a raging storm. She tightened her fists and it trembled violently.
"I don't need it," she cried.
She retracted her hand and was about to disappear back into the abyss, when a loud rumble caused both of us to stop.
"Was that—."
"No, it wasn't!" She snapped.
"Just admit you're hungry," I said.
"I'm not. Now leave!"
I shrugged. "Sure."
I turned towards the entrance and started walking.
"Wait!" She called. "Why are you taking the tray with you?"
"You said you're not hungry, right? I'll take it back to the kitchen. Maybe if I'm lucky they'll let me eat it instead of tossing it." I continued to walk away.
How stubborn can you really be on an empty stomach? I wondered.
"F-f-fine!" She shouted. "You can talk. But only until I finish eating. Then I want you out. You got that!"
I smiled. "Sounds like a deal."
She frowned but begrudgingly opened the door wide so I could walk in with her food. Once I was inside, she shut and locked the door.
The room was the same as it was before, girly and vibrant. To be honest, it was kind of unsettling how neat it was. You'd think something would be out of place, but no. Even her bed was still made.
She sat criss-cross on her bad and glared at me. She slapped the covers in front of her. "Put it down here." She ordered.
I did as she asked and then carefully sat at the edge of the bed.
She removed the cloche, revealing a steaming decorated steak dinner with mashed potatoes, shrimp, and rice.
She grabbed the silverware and started cutting up the steak into perfect square slices.
"So, what do you want this time?" She didn't bother glancing up at me.
"Uhh, I—."
"I know you don't want to be friends with me." She cut me off. "I can see it. Your expressions. Your words. They're as shallow as everyone else's. Considering you mentioned her name before, Sophia probably asked you to talk to me."
