It's finally time! Miss Mya sang in my head but I refused to have my frown changed no matter how many happy emotions she leaked into my heart. At least not until she comes out.
...
A buzzing interrupted my calm slumber. Beyond the windows, there was no light present and my room was so shrouded with darkness I couldn't even see my hands I was holding in front of me. The buzzing continued, and I swear if my phone wasn't directly under my pillow it wouldn't have gotten answered.
I reached for it and the bright light it blinded me with made me want to throw it across the room, not that it'd accomplish anything. I squinted my eyes, trying to read the name so I knew whether I should care about this or not. It read:
'Certified Migraine'
I sighed. I do have to answer this. I pressed accept and placed it next to my ear, hoping it was a mistaken butt-dial.
"Hel—."
"Arthur." Olivia cut me off before I even had the opportunity to greet her. Unlike me, she sounded energized and it was clear she wasn't the least bit tired.
"Hm?" I did my best to sound like I care but my own sleepiness crept in.
"Y-y-you know how you said I could visit your home?" Her voice staggered.
"Yeah?"
"I'll take you up on your offer. Let me come over tomorrow." Her voice had settled, and her confident, bossy tone had settled.
"Ah. Yeah. Sure."
There was a few seconds of silence and I wondered if she maybe didn't hear me. "Good." She finally responded. "Pick me up at noon then."
"Kay."
"And don't be late." She roared and I lowered the volume on my phone. "You hear me?"
"Yes. Yes."
"Well, um. Thank you." She sounded slightly off-put. "I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Goodnight." I hung up and threw the phone across them room. You're not bothering me anymore tonight.
...
Be happy," Miss Mya said. Isn't this what you wanted? You're finally getting what you worked so hard for. All you have to do is lead her to talk to Sophia and you don't even have to deal with her anymore.
I hope you're right. My gut is telling me that it won't go that well. It never really does. What if Sophia and Olivia don't get along after I put them together? With Olivia's personality, it's far from unbelievable.
Huhu, you could always, ya know—Miss Mya carrying a sly grin appeared in my mind.
"Miss Mya, I'm not stabbing Olivia and having you take control of her so it goes well."
She chuckled. The fact that you got it without me saying anything meant you had already concocted the idea in your head.
Yeah...I stopped. It's not like I don't think about it you know.
Hm? Think about what? She asked.
Using you more. Tucker, my father, finding my mom, unearthing the secrets that are being hidden from me. By all accounts, my problems would be a lot easier if I just took control of everyone. I know that.
But?
But then I wouldn't have a family. They wouldn't be people to me. They'd be puppets I could manipulate. And I really don't want that. I don't want to be able to control everyone around me.
