Alright, you ready? I asked, staring at the gauntlets on my arms.
Mhm, Ami replied.
I did a couple of quick jabs, but to be completely honestly I still couldn't feel anything strange. They felt like normal gauntlets. Honestly, I'd like to go test them out somewhere to gauge exactly what the limits of her power were but the only good place is the forest and I'm not getting my leg cut off by a random bear trap.
Then let's go! I ran out of my room and exited the mansion.
Where are we going, Tuck-Tuck?
Mmm, we're going to visit three meddlesome children that I sometimes look after, I said.
I haven't visited them in a few days, which is fine, but I hope they're doing what they're supposed to. It'll be a problem if Zay starts skipping his homework again.
Kids? Like Ami?
Yea, like Ami.
Except they're not demons and don't live forever, I thought.
Is something wrong with them? She asked.
Not at all, I just check up on them every so often. They don't have the best home lives so I'm just there for them in case they need me.
So Tuck-Tuck is a hero?
A hero? No, never.
But isn't that what heroes are? That's what Mai Mai told me at least. That heroes are good people that are there for others.
Well...yes, but no, but yes—It's not that simple. Heroes are super cool people that do great things for other people.
Doesn't Tuck-Tuck do that though?
Nothing special. Just small stuff.
Well I think Tuck-Tuck is a hero!
"Ha Ha." I appreciate it. But what would my hero name be?
Hm...
It seems like she's really pondering on this, I thought. Is she actually thinking hard about this?
Tuck-Tuck the Great! She said full of enthusiasm.
I couldn't hold it in. Luckily I just passed the security toll, because it was awhile before my laughter died out. I quickly wiped the tears in my eyes that were forming.
"Ah, that was hilarious."
Ami thinks it's good.
Yeah, I like it too.
Do you? I could hear the suspicion in her tone.
Yeah, I do. I swear.
Tuck-Tuck the great? I thought. Why does that sound like a bad ripoff of He-Man?
I passed through the next toll after passing through the city, luckily having already paid during my last visit. I thought about what agenda I should have for those three. I am showing up without any kind of plan after all.
Hm, what should we do today? Hopefully whatever I choose does not involve my wallet. I won't say I didn't enjoy myself playing with them at Sky Zone, but uh, it hit pretty hard. And going to the arcade the following week wasn't the smartest idea. I guess we can just chill and play around the house.
Or so I thought, because when I reached the house, it was completely abandoned, much like when I first found it. I surveyed the perimeter of the house, checking if maybe they went on the roof again, but didn't see them at all. Then I checked every inch of the building, although the house was relatively compact and I couldn't even think of a place where they could hide.
