How was I getting these memories about people I knew and also someone I wasn't supposed to know? What Incident could make an entire village feel darker? And how was I related to someone who died well before I was even born?
———————————————————————————————————————————
After nearly an hour, I finally was able to help both Tsuna-Chan and Jira-Chan calm down. I then stood up and looked at the pink-haired girl more closely, but didn't get any flashes like I had when I looked at the others, which I found odd, but also meant that she wasn't someone that resembled anyone I met before. She stared at me for a while, almost as if she were waiting for me to say something.
"Kit, her name is Haruno Sakura. She is on your Genin team," a deep, growling voice said from somewhere. Nobody else seemed to react to it, though, which meant I was the only one who could hear it. Weird.
'Thanks. I wish there was some way for me to make them not worry about me so much. I obviously know them well, for them to have rushed in here so quickly after that girl, Haruno-Chan, left. They must care for me quite a bit,' I thought back to the voice, though unsure whether that would actually work.
"You call her Sakura-Chan, Jiraiya you call Ero-Sennin, Tsuna you call Baa-Chan, and Kakashi is your sensei so that should be pretty self-explanatory."
My eyes widened at the name I supposedly used for Jira-Chan.
'My own son is a pervert?!' I burst back at the voice. All I heard back was snickering. Then I realized what I had called him, even in my own head... son... 'It's no wonder I knew his mother's final words. Somehow, those were my final words. But that doesn't make any sense. How can I have died but still be here? And on that note, if I'm his mother, how is he older than me?'
"I think you'll have to figure that out on your own, kit. For now though, you should probably tune back in. They look concerned. You've been spaced out for the last 15 minutes talking with me." The voice then disappeared, and I felt like the owner had put up a wall so I couldn't try to speak to it again. Then I processed what the voice had said, and snapped back to reality.
I looked at the four people in front of me, all showing faces of concern. Well, Kakashi was only able to show concern with the set of his jaw through his mask, and how his visible eye seemed to shine slightly.
"Sorry, I kind of zoned out there," I lied, not wanting to worry them more by saying I was now hearing voices. I rubbed the back of my head and put on a wide grin, so wide it made me squint my eyes.
It felt like the whole room had let out a massive sigh of relief, and a heaviness in the air I hadn't even noticed at first, was suddenly gone.
The pink-haired girl, Sakura-Chan I guess I have to call her, walked closer to me, a fist raised and her eyes blazing. I didn't understand the fear coursing through my body. Had I been struck by this girl before? And if so, was it as painful as I seemed to fear? I honestly couldn't remember.
"Please don't hit me," I asked while raising my hands in surrender, making the girl pause. She looked at me weirdly, her head tipped to the side slightly. She lowered her arm and opened her hand at her side.
"Naruto-Kun, I..." she trailed off.
"I'm sorry, I don't really remember much of anything from before I was here," I admitted, putting my head down. There was a collective gasp of surprise. "I honestly don't even feel like I belong. The clothes I'm wearing, this room, everything just feels so... wrong. I don't understand what's going on. I just want to go home..." I felt my eyes begin to sting and I thought of that mysterious man again, wanting him to just hold me, tell me that everything would be alright. But since he wasn't here, and based on everything Jira-Chan said, the man was probably gone.
