I wasn't sure what happened at first. There was an explosion, and a lot of smoke, but when it cleared, there were dozens of people standing around us, all with the same silver colored hair. Men and women alike. The men had hair that defied gravity, while the women had hair that shimmered like moonlight streaking down their backs.

I was in awe at first, before I remembered what was going on, and flicked my fans out of my sleeves, grateful I had brought them.

Before I could engage an enemy, however, I was blocked by Mada-Sama. I huffed in annoyance, and tried to get around him in order to fight, when he simply gave me a sideways glance that spoke volumes. Don't even try it.

I backed down and watched my friends and family take on the enemies, when I heard a scream of agony, followed by a shout of rage, as I saw Akashi run after a retreating enemy. The battle was over before it had even truly begun, which was odd. I didn't quite understand it. But I didn't exactly have time to worry about that.

I ran over to see who had screamed, when I saw Mai, lying on the ground, a pool of blood slowly forming around her. There was a large wound in her abdomen, that looked deep, and my only thought was, 'Their baby.'

I swiftly knelt down next to her, not caring that my kimono was becoming bloody, as I began attempting to heal her. I was swiftly joined by Hashi-Sama, and together we were able to slowly mend the damage. Or at least, stop the bleeding and fix the wounds.

When she was resting, and healed enough to only require bandages instead of medical ninjutsu, Hashi-Sama and I walked over to a corner of the shrine, where we could have a private conversation.

"I'm pretty sure that injury hit her unborn child," I said in a barely audible whisper. Hashi-Sama's eyes widened. "With the significant damage that we just repaired, and the fact I didn't feel any other chakra source other than her own, I think she lost the baby."

"Yes. And not only that, but with how extensive the injury was, I hate to say this to you, as you are one of their closest friends, but with what scarring will occur, I doubt she will ever be able to carry a child again," Hashi-Sama agreed, adding his own analysis. It broke my heart to hear that news, but I understood. When a female, or omega are stabbed in the abdomen, especially early during pregnancy, it could be very likely to cause severe and lasting damage to the womb, making it near impossible for them to carry another child, depending on how deep the weapon penetrated.

"I need to be the one to give them this news. It may be easier for them coming from me," I said, although I absolutely abhorred having to do this to them. They had looked so ecstatic just a few days ago to tell me about the child, but now...

I slowly walked over to my close friends, and found Mai cradling her wounded belly and sobbing, lying in her husband's arms. I had to swallow the lump in my throat before I could even begin to speak to them. I knelt down next to them, and took Mai's hand in both of mine.

"Some wedding, huh," Akashi joked half-heartedly. I snorted derisively.

"Um, listen," I started, only to have Mai look at me with shimmering pools of liquid night.

"My baby's gone, isn't it?" Her voice was soft, dejected. All I could do was nod, because she'd already realized the truth. It wasn't the worst part though.

"I'm sorry, Mai-Chan, Akashi, so terribly sorry for you both, and I wish I could say I had better news to share, but I don't..."

"W-we can't... we can't have... I can't carry... anymore. That's what you... that's what you wanted to say..."
