"I started suspecting her about it after she tried to kill Jira-Chan."

"She tried to do what?" Tsuna-Chan deadpanned. She looked at me blankly, as if I were making it up. "Mito was the sweetest woman toward Jiraiya, especially after you passed away. I can't imagine her trying to kill him as a child."

I looked at her for a moment, before bowing my head and continuing my story.

"It was the night of the Hatake clan invasion—."

"The what now?!" I was interrupted once again, this time by Kai's grandson, a Hatake himself. Because his grandfather had been raised in the Uchiha clan, he most likely never spoke of how his clan went extinct.

"Yes. The Hatake clan invaded the Uchiha district. We had been having many issues with them over the years, and it came to a head that night, when they attacked our home. My mate and I had heard the sounds of fighting, and decided as the clan heads we had to help. However, I couldn't just leave Jira-Chan unguarded, so I summoned a toad to stand watch over his door. The battle only lasted a few minutes, and when it was over, there was a sense of relief throughout the whole district.

"However, when my mate and I were walking into the house, I heard the sounds of battle coming from deeper within. I was worried one of the enemies had snuck in to harm our boy, so I hurried toward the sounds of fighting, only to find Mito attacking my toad. She was thrown into a wall but came back harder, and when I called out, my toad said he didn't understand why she was attacking him, and Mito turned on me. I pulled out my battle fans in order to protect myself as she charged at me, only for my husband to step in front of me and block her. He held her off long enough for me to get behind her and knock her out. With her down, I could breathe again, but I had a feeling it wasn't over, and I was right.

"Months later, we were preparing to welcome the birth of our second child, whom I was positive was a little girl. We were sitting down to a nice family dinner, talking about our day and laughing together, when the sound of shattered glass broke through the conversation, and Jira-Chan's eyes widened to saucers. He tried to run to me, screaming for me, but my husband held him back, sadness and fear warring in his eyes. I looked down and saw a Yari protruding from my body. I coughed and fell, only to be caught by my mate. He kept telling me to hold on, but I couldn't and we both knew that. The last thing I said to him was 'I'm sorry'."

Tsuna-Chan and Kakashi-San looked at me confused, while Jira-Chan had his head bowed, crying.

"How does your death relate in any way to Mito 'attacking' Jiraiya, or indicate she was involved at all?" Kakashi-San asked. I thought about that for a while before finding the answer.

"There were several instances where I recall someone trying to trip me during my first pregnancy, only to be caught by my mate. Each time, I'd look behind me and see Mito for a split second before she'd turn and walk away into the crowd, where I wouldn't be able to spot her again, save flashes of red. There was also a moment, I recall, during my first pregnancy as well, when I was relaxing on a bench in the shade and she snuck up on me. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I know she said something about children being a burden. She worried me that day, made me think there was a possibility of her trying to harm me or my child, especially when she smiled this cruel grin at me; and with that added to the multiple tripping incidents, I figured my concerns were well founded. She was always kind and well-spoken with everyone else, but when it was just the two of us, she became this evil creature. It was rather scary."

Jira-Chan looked at me and frowned. "I remember her coming and visiting me in the orphanage after my Otou-San defected... She had a weird smile on her face. She said that a child born between the Uzumaki and Uchiha was unnatural and should never be allowed to mature... Thinking back on it, I swear I heard her say, 'and that's why your Okaa-San had to die, taking that abomination with him.' It was whispered, and I don't think she meant for me to hear it, but I did, and it made me terrified of her."
