When we were right at the end of what I was capable of, there was another voice in the room, "Uzumaki Naruto..."
I looked up and gasped in shock.
——————————————————————————————————————————-
"Wh-who...?" I stuttered, worried that this guy may very well be an enemy that had now snuck up on me while I was expending chakra to save my son.
"I go by several aliases. I would tell you my most common one, but I was advised not to," he replied. He was wearing a long black cloak with red clouds on it, and an orange mask with a swirl design that seemed to center on the lone eye hole, where a Sharingan eye blazed. "For you, I will tell you my real name, because I have already revealed my true personality. My true name is Uchiha Obito."
My eyes widened. I couldn't believe it. "You're the one that taught Kakashi-San that saying!" I blurted out, not understanding what I meant at first, only to remember it again. "'Those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum.' That was you!"
Through the single eye hole I saw his surprise. He probably wasn't expecting that.
"Kaka-baka uses that quote, huh?" He sounded nostalgic, allowing me to continue healing Jira-Chan.
I finished healing him while this "Obito" person traveled down memory lane, making sure to also wrap the wound in bandages that I had in a medical kit tucked away inside my yukata.
"There, you can rest easy now that your wound is hopefully healing, musuko. I hope you wake up," I whispered, making sure that the suspicious man couldn't hear exactly what I had said.
I guess the sound I made pulled "Obito" out of his thoughts finally, because he shook his head and focused back on me.
"I was told to help you, by someone important," he started, moving closer to myself and Jira-Chan.
I quickly pulled out a fan from my sleeve and opened it, holding it in front of me to defend both of us.
"Don't come closer!"
He simply chuckled. "I don't want to hurt you. However, my... employer, you could say, wanted to make sure the two of you were safe, and sent me to make sure of that. I'm here to transport you back to Konoha."
I narrowed my eyes at him skeptically. "Why don't I believe you?" I asked with suspicion.
He shrugged his shoulders with his hands out, and sighed. "He said you might be a stubborn one..." he mumbled.
I wasn't sure who he meant. I swore I never met anyone wearing these cloaks, other than Itachi and that fish guy... and then there were those other two that took Gaara... what did they say they were called again?
"Let me just say that someone very high in the chain of command in the Akatsuki wants you safe. I don't know why, just that it was his one wish. His last wish before he died."
My eyes widened. I didn't know who he was talking about, but for some reason, just hearing him say that made my heart clench painfully in my chest. I couldn't catch my breath for a few moments, and my vision began turning black.
