Never enough

Chapter 5

I check my phone and see loads of missed calls from the boys. I check the time and see that it's 00.45 AM. Shit. I promised to be home before midnight. I walk up to Caleb and Keith. 'Guys I really have to go. Can you drive me?' "Sure!" Keith says as he fishes his keys out of his pocket. 'I don't think it's smart if you drive considering all the beer you've had.' Caleb says 'Let me drive.' Keith gives Caleb an annoyed look but tosses him his keys. I tell the rest of the group goodbye and walk after Keith and Caleb to the car.

'Thanks for driving me!' I say as I get out of the car. I walk towards the door and see that all the lights are still on. This is going to be fun... I open the front door and walk into the living room. The boys are all sitting on the couch and staring at me as I walk in. "Where were you, young lady?" Louis asks. 'Sorry..' I say as I stare at the ground. "Do you know how worried we were?!" Harry almost yells. 'I forgot the time.' "You should've texted us." Liam says. 'I know but I already said that I'm sorry. What else do you want?' I immediately regret what I said. "You're grounded for the next two weeks," Harry says. "Go to bed."

I just got into my bed when I hear someone knock. 'Come on in' I say. The door slowly opens and I see Zayn's head peek through the door opening. "I just came to check on you," he says "can I come in?" I nod. Zayn steps into my room and takes a seat at the foot end of my bed. 'I'm really sorry.' I say. I feel my eyes fill with tears. "It's fine honey. We were just worried" Zayn says as he gives me a hug. Suddenly he pulls away. "Katie you smell like beer." I feel my cheeks turn red. 'I just had a few.' I say. "I don't think those new friends of yours are good for you." Zayn says. 'It's not their fault. It was my own decision.' I say defensively. "We'll talk about this tomorrow morning." Zayn says as he stands up and turns off the light. "Good night."
