It was a couple of hours later after what had happened last night. Both of them on their bed lying awake smiling and reminiscing the kiss they both shared. As she laid awake she decided to text him.

MG: Thank you for tonight.
CH: You're welcome. Hope it becomes a more recurrent event.
MG: I'll let you go to sleep, we both have busy schedules. I'll see you tomorrow.

As she locked her phone, all she could think about was the way he would react about her telling him about Nick. Would he be mad, disappointing, or sad? Even though they've known each other for a couple of years, she still couldn't read him.

It was around 4am the next day, when Nick arrived to the hospital. He walked in his olive green scrubs into the hospital where he first met Meredith a couple years ago. He laughs to himself thinking about how stupid he was of not taking care of himself, but also happy that he found Meredith.

He was walking down the hallway, when he encountered Bailey.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Nick Marsh." He said grabbing her attention.

"Well hello, Dr. Marsh. I'm Dr. Miranda Bailey. You're the transplant surgeon with Farouk's heart right?"

"Yes I am, do you know where Dr. Winston Ndugu or Dr. Cormac Hayes are?" He asked her.

"They should be home, since you came early. But I'll page them right away. If anything you can just help and prep for the surgery."

"Okay thank you, which OR would that be?"

"That would be OR 2, it's going to be on the third floor on your right." Dr. Bailey said as she headed to her office.

He went his way to the elevator, and he was happy to see a Meredith.

Hayes, woke up when his phone went off. He hated waking up so early in the morning, but it came with the job. When he went to pick up his phone from his side drawer, it was a text message from Bailey, saying that the heart arrived and that he needed to be there as soon as possible. With that, he took a quick shower, changed, and left his house, knowing that today would be a good day despite there was a secret unbeknown to him.

As he was arriving to Grey-Sloan, he saw Meredith pulling up as well. He decided to wait for her, since he's the type of guy to wait for someone that meant the world to him. As she got out of her car after parking, he decided to head towards her. As he was approaching, he saw a male figure approach Meredith from behind.

At that point, he decided to stop in his tracks and just gaze and what was happening before his eyes. Those arms that he wished were his wrapped around Meredith's waist and she got startled by surprise. The male's head bent down to her head in a way to just soak up how she smelled. As Meredith turned around, he noticed her demeanor, in a way, she noticed the tension in her body fighting against to reject the man that was clearly showing his affection or just soaking it up.

With that, he didn't want to see anymore. He knew that these two knew each other and had something going on. He realized that she didn't tell him the truth and it hurt him. But he also knew, that she didn't owe him anything either. It wasn't like he told her to wait for him anyway, but still it hurt seeing them two together. He turned back and started to walk into Grey-Sloan.

Unbeknown to him, Meredith glanced at him and the pit in her stomach fell. She knew she had to talk him about this situation, but first she needed to talk to Nick about their current situation. It wasn't going to be easy, but it had to be done.

When she turned around to meet his gaze, she knew right away that them being together was the wrong thing. He slowly inched himself to kiss her and she turned her head so his lips landed on her cheek instead of her lips.
