No one bothered to look my way twice as I walked through the crowd outside of the Ark with a black backpack looped over my right shoulder. The added weight of the food rations and the extra jacket I nicked pulled at the muscles across my shoulders to my left bicep, causing them to ache from the medicine slowly easing its way out of my system.
My face grimaced at the pain while I stepped around the massive piece metal from the Ark propped up by several pieces of wood. Bellamy and Raven ceased their quiet conversation at the sound of my footsteps. Their heads snapped in my direction with Raven's hand hovered over the black duffel bag in front of them.
"Just me," I reassured her before I shifted my gaze to Bellamy.
I instinctively sucked in a deep breath when we made direct eye contact. My feet carried me over to where they stood around the broken tree underneath the duffel bag. A strange feeling lingered after our reunion and the kiss we shared, one that left me feeling uncertain.
The way I felt for him hadn't wavered. My feelings may have grown even stronger. The reunion and the kiss left me confused as to where we stood now. We haven't had a chance where we could take a moment to discuss what happened. There was always a reason that prevented us from being alone, either worrying about Finn and Murphy or someone was with us.
The kiss provided enough proof that we both liked each other. All of this caused a bit of anxiety to simmer in my stomach from my lack of knowledge about crushes and relationships. Life in my cell never allowed me to interact with other people my age, let alone boys.
All I knew about relationships came from the nonfiction books guards would occasionally bring into my cell, approved by the Chancellor, of course. This was all new to me.
"Sunshine," I softly greeted him.
"Princess," Bellamy responded, matching my tone.
Raven quirked an eyebrow in my peripheral vision as she silently watched our interaction. She glanced back and forth while we continued to maintain eye contact without exchanging anymore words.
"Okay," she broke the silence, awkwardly.
We looked away from each other. A hint of warmth tinted my cheeks. Raven hovered her hand over the duffel bag in front of her.
"I grabbed you some extra bandages in here in case yours bleed through," she explained. "I tried to sneak some medicine, but Abby was in medical and I couldn't grab it without her seeing."
"It's okay," I reassured her. "Thank you."
Bellamy widened his dark eyes. His gaze flicked over to me across the tree as he slowly scanned over my body, searching for the injury he just became aware of. The last thing I wanted was for him to claim I wasn't capable of tagging along because I was injured. I refused to be separated with him after the separation we already experienced.
"Hey."
Clarke rounded the side of the metal with a black backpack gripped in her left hand and hung down by her legs. She glimpsed at the three of us and came to a stop on my left.
"My mom's in surgery and the team going after Kane just left," she informed us. "We should, too."
"Did you find Octavia?" Bellamy asked.
"No, I found you."
The sound of Octavia's voice caused me to raise an eyebrow. I tilted my head to the left and watched as she trudged across the dead grass to where her brother stood. A determined expression resided on her face.
"I'm not letting you leave here without me," she declared, matter-of-factly.
"Octavia—" Clarke tried to interrupt.
