Sounds of muffled stomping from various beings jolted us into peering at the door cautiously, the projector which was encased in my arms pressed on tightly. "Y/n, come here." Sunwoo muttered, his orbs not twitching off the dented door. I instantaneously walked with little taps towards him, he grasped my wrist, along with his melee. "Haknyeon, behind me." Sunwoo demanded, Haknyeon obeyed.
The clanging of the metallic limbs against the stairs silenced, inducing for us to grimace, a frown was painted on Haknyeon's face, to which he was repaid with the door blasting with two gigantic droids, both on attack mode and processing the targets. The entire room shook, I yelped, Sunwoo helping me maintain my balance. Haknyeon was already on the hard floor, struggling to get up as he had been caught by one of them. Sunwoo took advantage of the second busted door, dashing through it whilst clutching my wrist in an adrenaline rush. Haknyeon's shouts could be heard, and guilt began trickling down my spine as we dashed down the stairs. I stopped Sunwoo midway, pulling his wrist. "We have to get him! We can't just leave him." I shouted, my heart pounding from anxiety. Sunwoo pressed his lips against eachother, sheathing his orbs with his eyelids in a manner of regaining his patience. "You stay here, I'll handle it. Don't move." Sunwoo said throughout the various sounds of Haknyeon's screeches and the furniture of the laboratory crashing, which stung my ears. But as Sunwoo put a foot on the stairs, he viewed the laboratory blazing with flames. His lips were parted, and his eyes were focused. My orbs remained absorbed in the scene taking place before me, the scene replaying in the reflection of my eyes. A gasp sneaking its way out of my throat. Sunwoo immediately took me in shield, attempting to get me down the stairs.
An explosion was followed by the fire, various explosions from the devices which were inside. My ears rung, and so did Sunwoo's, he gritted his teeth as the temperature arose. Meanwhile, I was in a state of shock, only following what Sunwoo instructed me to do. His voice was altered, his image beginning to blur in my eyes as he sprinted with me in hand towards a nearby building since the droids from the core had been informed with the presence of beings.
The aftermath of this consisted of staying in the old storage room of a building which was all almost ruins, the night in the storage was cold, bristling with frost, Sunwoo enveloped me in his arms, seated on the dusty floor and refusing to pry his arms off me. He acknowledged what I had witnessed was going to engrave itself on me, his fingers skimmed along the strands of my hair, occasionally imprinting a kiss on my forehead.
"Are you thirsty?" He asked in the utmost gentle tone he could muster. I batted my eyelashes a few times, at last shifting my gaze towards him since the minute we came in here. Sunwoo pulled the bag which was tossed beside him closer, unzipping a smaller section to grab a bottle, which contained the obvious.
He twisted the cap open with a click, directing the opening towards my lips. I sipped at first, then began gulping down a few times, gesticulating that it was enough at the end. He implaced the clear bottle beside him. Sunwoo's fingers held my chin, his thumb directing my gaze towards him. "I'm sorry, so sorry." He murmured, his eyes which were once spiritless and mischievous enveloping remorse, thinking what happened was his fault. Tears began prickling my eyes, concluding into them growing glassy. Sunwoo skimmed a finger along my eyelid to prevent future tears from spilling.
He threw his head back, hooding his vision with his bangs once again. Sunwoo rolled off his jacket, motioning me to lay my head on his lap. Firstly, I was hesitant, but laggardly sunk my head onto the flesh of his lower body. He sheathed me with his jacket, allowing heat to build up. "What about you?" I asked in concern. "I'll be fine, I've had enough heat for today." He stated, resting his hand on my shoulder. "As for you, get some rest. We'll wake up early and put the memory card in the projector." He yawned whilst speaking, batting his eyes a few times before enclosing them.
