"I think it's set up." Sunwoo spoke as he inserted the memory card with a click. I was seated next to him with my legs folded, the projector began illuminating a pastel blue tint on our faces, the screen displayed two files, to which Sunwoo skimmed his fingers across the screen to view its contents. "What file are we after?" I asked, curious of what we are pursuing. "The visual map in Desk D." He gave his response, not sparing a glance at me since he was absorbed in his work. "Visual map of the laboratory?" I asked once again. Sunwoo hummed. "Correct, this is an old model, it surely wasn't affected by the system invasion." He explained further, before tapping a certain cubic icon. "This one." Sunwoo seated himself back abreast of me, awaiting the file to load, the screen demonstrated a graphic representation of the interior of the laboratory, which was extremely enormous. "We would be lucky if we don't get lost." I stated with a hint of disappointment in my tone, my shoulders sinking. "We wouldn't get lost in the core, but we would in the laboratory." He began reassuring me in a peculiar way, which relieved half of my anxiety. "There would be tons of lunatic droids though.." He muttered, I cocked an eyebrow. "Which is why we have these." I fiddled in my pocket, getting a grip of the plug I possessed. "Now, we would be even more lucky if our identities haven't been registered in the system." He swiped his finger along his chin, his eyes were squinted whilst he zoomed on the graphic map of the laboratory. "There, we should be entering from here." Sunwoo indicated at the fire exit with his index. "It's always fire exits." I rolled my orbs, the darkness they possessed didn't occur to me.
"Make sure to have it attached tightly, if we are met with droids we can't be doing humanoid gestures, alright?" Sunwoo took caution, we were hidden behind an old, rusty locker. Which was dented in some corners. "I forgot to mention, we might meet some survivors since we are going to the heart of the city." Sunwoo explained furthermore, twisting the plug on my nape. "Are we heading directly inside the laboratory? I don't think we are prepared." I stated, furrowing my eyebrows. "We aren't, we're heading towards the building three streets away from it."
As Sunwoo and I strolled through the streets, they began rapidly growing crowded with the infectious, we stayed apart from eachother, keeping distance to avoid suspicion. I took note of the buildings around me, which gleamed with wires, stipulating pre-arrival to the core. Drones decorated the sky above me, droids inspecting napes for the plugs, or as they see it, robotic parasite. Sunwoo seemed tense as he walked, surprisingly I was the opposite. Even though we weren't allowed to display any expressions of amusement.
Sunwoo gestured with two of his fingers for me to walk closer, to which I fastened my pace. I nudged him slightly, he seemed even more tense. The gate to the core had a scanner placed atop of it, Sunwoo instantaneously began walking sideways, attempting to avoid the scanner. With an adrenaline rush, I followed the action.
The streets which were once crowded, lessened with beings as we strayed further from the laboratory, pursuing the named building Sunwoo mentioned. "The map displayed it should be around here, right?" I asked Sunwoo, he fiddled with his hands internal of his pocket. "Should be." He repeated half of my question.
A building which gleamed with a watery neon fluid was revealed to us at a sharp corner turn, Sunwoo had a leer announce itself on his face, a grin was painted on my lips. The doors automatically opened for the both of us, smoke began flowing from underneath the doors.
"Long time no see." A woman which I had met back at the subway stated, clutching a machete.
