"This is your last dose for the day, reports are due the end of the week." The professor announced, none of the students including me cared to hear his statements, abandoning the class which rummaged with the sounds of packing and chairs screeching against the rifled concrete floor.
I walked joyously within the busy streets, cars swishing by, birds chirping as a choir along the roads, fragrances radiating from nearby restaurants scenting the humid air. It was a good day in the summer, the sun wasn't scorching and the weather was just fine.
As I crossed the street, walking through intersections, my gaze switched to the green tinted statue of Sunwoo, whom was gloriously clutching a flash, representing several droids that attempted to grasp his arms, sun rays complimenting his fierce aura. I shook my head, chuckling slightly as I remembered the fuss caused when they were attempting to put it up, taking me back a year ago, when they held it up as soon as the city was redeemed to present their gratitude.
"Took you long enough, where were you?" Sangyeon asked, peering from behind the door leading to the kitchen behind the counter. I implaced my bag on the counter with a distressed sigh, going internal of the kitchen. "The professor decided to provide us with an extra revision lesson that no one asked for." I complained, seating myself in exhaustion on the chair in the kitchen. He hummed, visibly busy with cooking a certain soup, which had its smell linger in my nostrils. "If that's the case, then I'll get you something to eat as a reward." He smiles gently, gazing at me. "I haven't finished cooking yet, but I do know I have chicken sandwiches stored somewhere." He continued, I held my fists up in enthusiasm, thanking him numerous times whilst he tittered.
"I'm hungry, Sangyeon give me anything!" Eric yelled throughout the whole restaurant, bell ringing upon his entrance while a distressed expression layered on his face. "I haven't even opened the restaurant yet, be patient and seat yourself next to Y/n, I'm cooking something." Sangyeon announced from his storage room, vibration sounds coming from the microwave could be clearly heard. "He calls microwaving cooking?" I questioned, mostly to Eric. "He's weird." Eric brushed what Sangyeon did off, greeting me by slamming his hand along mine. He tossed his bag somewhere in the kitchen. "This guy has never heard of a life outside studies, he bombarded me with various warnings this morning." Eric complained to me, shaking his head whilst eating. "Have you even seen mine? That guy seated us in the goddamn classroom with a "the bell doesn't dismiss you, I do."" Eric groaned, gazing at his food. "I hate these ones, so annoying." He stated, almost losing his appetite.
"By the way, have you seen AX all day? I haven't seen Juyeon either. They usually stop by to say hi." Sangyeon asked, drying his hands on his apron by swapping them. Eric and I paused with eating, raising our eyebrows and mumbling various statements of denial right after. Not even minutes after, the doorbell rung, announcing the arrival of someone. Eric looked over the kitchen door, checking who it might be. "Speak of the devil." Eric muttered, digging into his food. "It's them?" I asked, he nodded.
I looked over to the door, seeing Sangyeon greet two figures, Juyeon and AX, whom went to the kitchen as soon as she spotted me, eyes perked up with joy. "Y/n, hello." She greeted, slightly hugging me as she has seen that I was eating. "Hello.." I minimally waved, Eric furrowed his eyebrows. "What about me?" He sulked, AX giggled, greeting him. "Hi, Eric." She cited with her gentle aura. "What's that smell?" Juyeon asked, storming into the kitchen, seeming content by the fragrances. "Onion soup." I answered on behalf of Sangyeon. "You're making the food I don't like." Eric muttered, Sangyeon raised an eyebrow. "Well, I didn't make it for YOU. Besides, this a homemade meals inspired restaurant. You're more than lucky I even found these sandwiches for you." Sangyeon snarled back, placing his hands on his hips. "The customer is always right." Eric stated, not sparing a look at Sangyeon whilst he cleaned up after himself. "Send the money later on then." Sangyeon mumbled, seating himself far flung to where I was. The whole room looked at Eric. "This guy has money?" I asked, indicating at Eric, whom was bewildered by what Sangyeon had said ironically. "Right." Juyeon agreed, leaning on the counter. "I do have money! Just don't expect it to be the bill gates type of amount.."
I stretched my arms, seating myself on wheeled chair on my somewhat disorganized desk, placing a cup of coffee on the oaken table. I had looked at the time, 11:56, it read. My orbs were averted back to the laptop ahead of me, which was newly turned on. "Sunwoo's anniversary in a few minutes.." I mumbled, a mild grin on my lips whilst I cracked my knuckles. I checked the laptop percentage, 25%, it read. I groaned in dissatisfaction, if I don't plug it now, I'm going to forget that it even needs to be charged and it will die in the middle of whatever I'm doing. I faintly flung my chair a few inches back, opening my drawer to look for the charger, which I instantaneously found. I grinned in victory, yet upon pulling out the charger, a blackened memory card dropped out on the floor. I knitted my eyebrows into a frown, picking it up and and tossing the charger somewhere on the table. It was similar to the card Sunwoo and I obtained before, my chest had a hollow feeling at the presence of it. I was hesitant into injecting it into the laptop, but further I thought about it, I had eventually done it.
My screen light up, displaying the files on the memory card. "Desk D, Desk C, Desk E." I batted my eyelashes twice at the third one, as the file originally had two desks only. I dragged my mouse on the pad, left clicking to check its containments. A document titled "read.me.<3" came in my vision, I gulped, double clicking. White letters with a caliginous background twitched my orbs. I had decided to read, as I was dumbfounded.
"Y/n, hello. You might be confused as to why this might be on your display, it most probably means I'm dead, since I would've deleted it if I was alive. I'd like to apologize, I knew I had high chances of dying, yet I went for it. I probably regret my decision, though. I didn't expect you to come in contact with this file again, in fact, I assumed you threw it away or something. A part of me hoped you'd be opening it soon to come across this message, whichever reason it is, I'm happy with it. If you think about it, maybe living in a corrupted world wasn't so bad if we had eachother. To me, the world didn't truly end until I had died thinking of you. But to be realistic, I'd like you to move on, yeah? I love you, I'm waiting."
I found myself sniffling, sobbing as various tears glided from my cheeks to come in contact with the floor. I had begun processing the situation, immediately breaking into a fit of wails while peering at the monitor, my heart grieved in sorrow at the paragraph I received, my hands sheathed half of my face, spending the rest of the night crying. My heart tightened as I reminisced the night I found him on his monitor, he was writing his own will back then.
