Chapter 10 : I'd Forgotten What It Felt Like
[Elleanora P.O.V]

Turn out the girls were more than happy to realise I had woken up.

They laughed and talked with me as we walk down to the nearby river, taking breathers every 10 or so minutes for my wound, listening to the tranquil sounds of the forest as we tread through it, almost silent.

"Mother hasn't had a dress like this since before the war." Susan muses, smiling as we reach the river and smoothing out her dress. Her dress is a rich green, with gold trim that compliments her complexion.

"Maybe we had bring back a whole trunk load when we go home." Lucy suggests and I smile at her. Her dress is red with a good trim, it suits her auburn hair.

"If we go home..." Susan sighs. "Sorry I guess I am like that. Remember when we use to have fun?" Susan says and I smile at her, before spinning around and grabbing her arms. My dress sleeve slips off my shoulder slightly.

It's a soft baby blue at the velvet bodice which slowly marbles into a sapphire blue at the bottom of the silk skirts.

"Yes, before you went boring." I say and I laugh lightly, before spinning her around.

"Oh really?" She replies, raising an eyebrow before leaning down and sending a handful of ice cold river water my way.  It hits the skin on my collar bone and right arm, but it doesn't bother me as much as it should, I squeal and rush to splash some back at her.

Susan turns, laughing, to reach for her towel that she hung on the tree as I continue the game with Lucy.

Susan's scream pierces through the warm air.

"Now, We're very tired. We'd prefer to kill you quickly." A wolf growls, jumping into the clearing by the river. In a panic Susan throws the towel on it.

I reach to my waist for my sword, before realising it's not there.

Susan whips round to her belongings and grabs the horn, she presses it to her lips and blows. We scramble into a tree, the wolves scratching and biting at our heels.

I hear the sounds of people crashing through the trees until Peter breaks into our small clearing by the river, looking around wildly. Aslan pins the second wolf to the ground and turns to the rest of the men at his sides.

"Stay back. This is Peter's battle." Aslan says and Peter charges forward. The wolf lunges and Peter is thrown to the ground. Unmoving. I press my mouth into a thin line and clench my fist.

"Peter... no!" Susan and Lucy scream, tumbling out of the tree in a rush to get to their brother, I follow behind quickly. I see his chest move, relief filling my head, and he jumps, driving the sword straight into the wolf's heart, killing it instantly.

Peter looks disgusted. While he is staring at the dead wolf Aslan releases it's comrade, it scampers off and he speaks to the men at his sides once more.

"Follow him! He'll lead you to Edmund." The men run off and Aslan turns to Peter again. "Peter, clean your sword." Aslan instructs and Peter wipes his sword on the green grass before kneeling down, head bowed.

"Rise, Sir Peter Wolfsbane--Knight of Narnia." Aslan announces and Peter looks up. I rush forward and almost knock Peter to the ground in a hug.

"I thought you were dead." I sniff and I feel a wetness in my eyes, I lift a hand to my cheek and when I pull it back, it's covered in tears.

It's been so long since I've cried in front of people, I'd forgotten what it felt like.

"It's gonna take more than that to kill me, okay Elleanora?" Peter says and he smiles at me, I return it.

"Okay." I whisper, before looking him in the eye. "But you can call me Ellea."

And I press my lips to his as the crowd cheers on.

Later on I emerge from a medic tent with Peter after healing him sloppily with healing magic. Peter reaches for my hand to hold, but I draw it away, cheeks flushed.

My eyes wander over the horizon and I pick out two figures, a raven haired boy and Aslan. My eyes widen.

"EDMUND!" Lucy yells from behind me, rushing towards him. Peter holds her back as Aslan turns back to Edmund, before they both come down the slope together,

"What's done is done. There is no reason to bring up the past with your brother." Aslan says and I am the first one to wrap Edmund into a warm hug.
