Chapter 4

I woke up to a sharp chill running up and down my spine, I tried to shake the feeling loose but it kept hold of me. I groaned and got up of bed. I got changed into some nice dress clothes as my parents called down to me.

“Coming,” I shouted enough for them to hear. I ran downstairs in a sunflower dress with a pair of nice boots. My parents were walking out to go to the Sunday meeting.

Afterwards we can back home and I got changed once more.

“Hey dad, how are we going to get some poor kid to move out and stay with us? Without adopting him,” I said in all seriousness.

“Well, I’m gonna ask if they have a foster child who needs to learn that life isn’t about him.” My father replied simply. I nodded understandingly.

“When’s he gonna be here?” I asked unsurely.

“Maybe today maybe next week,” he simply stated. I groaned and went upstairs. The day passed relatively smooth. The next day I got up and got ready for school. I jumped on the bus and nodded my head to Lou and I took my seat.

When we arrived at school I saw Amanda just standing there, and I waved my hand towards her.

“Hey,” I smiled at Amanda.

“Hello,” she said in a cheerful way.

“Did I tell you that my dad is going to hire some help for the farm?” I said flatly.

“Oh. My. GOODNESS! No! Why didn’t you tell me last night?” She asked a little hurt that I didn’t tell her.

“Because it’s awkward, he is going to have to stay in the room in the barn or by across the hall. Oh, also Tucker is going to go to University of Michigan.” I said flatly again.

“OH, well I hope that he is gonna have fun,” she replied cheerfully.

“Yea,” I mumbled and we walked to class.

I just sat there, staring at the wall. 10 minutes till school ends and Mister Tanner who was another one of my teachers was giving a lecture that I had no idea was even a topic. I just sat there day dreaming and then finally I heard…. RING! And class was over. I was SO happy because I was about to go into a coma. I saw my dad’s truck sitting there as normal. I jumped in and buckled my seatbelt only to turn and see a brown haired cute guy sitting in my father’s truck.

“Uhh… Hi?” I said uncomfortably. I buckled up and he was staring at me.

He grunted a hello and put the car in drive.

“So that’s what you say to a girl? Wow, you must not be a true player like you act.” I replied flatly.
