Hiyori's Monologue

Hiyori POV

I've seen all types of people

Strong people, smart people, kind people, ruthless people

But at the end of the day, they're all people aren't they?

We're all human, we're all the same aren't we?

Well, it always felt like I wasn't the same as the people around me

While some people went out for karaoke, I went to the library

While some people found new concepts in literature to be boring, I did not

I was a curious person

Personally, I didn't see anything wrong with that

But I did feel something wrong with that

Because of my behaviour, it was difficult for me to find any ways to make conversation with people, alienating me from my peers

So when all of a sudden, a random boy came at me and bombarded me with questions about books

I was quite happy

That was a lie, I was INCREDIBLY happy

I could tell me and this person were similar, and I enjoyed that

However, I happened to notice we're TOO alike, and that we think the same way

When our classrooms were attacking Ryueen, we both knew that Ryueen would eventually win them over

For a split second he actually SCARED me

But then that fear, it turned into something else

It turned into respect

I can say with 100% certainty, that this boy is one of the few people I think I can genuinely be friends with

So I'll do my best to support him

I wanted to stay out of trouble, even though I knew this school was up to something

But now I have a new reason to get involved with the school's issues

And it's not just for some books

It's for him

"Hiyori san" I heard Funaki say

"Ah sorry, I was zoning out" I apologized

The boy looked at me skeptically

"If you say so" They said turning their head away

"I'm pretty sure he could tell I was thinking of something else" I thought sheepishly

"Anyways, where do you want to look at first?" I asked, trying to shift the mood

"Mmm, what about Teyaki Mall? I heard its a super big shopping mall!" 

Teyaki Mall? I guess that would be a good place to look at first

"And best of all..." He continued

"There's multiple libraries in there!" He said enthusiastically

"Seriously!?" I say shocked

Not 1, not 2, but MULTIPLE libraries!?

"I think we should look focus on the convenience stores and stuff, once we get our necessities then we can focus on the libraries" Funaki said, calming both of us down
