I Need a Gangster

Chapter 15

Nobody's POV:

The Bonten gang had a busy day of their usual fraud, drug dealing, prostitution rings, and gambling. Mikey had sent Koko Kakucho and Mochi to check on how the money laundering was going as well as checking in at the casinos they owned, Sanzu of course was in charge of loading and unloading drugs accompanied by Akashi to keep him in line, Rindou and Ran had the job of visiting the prostitution rings to collect the money and pay the prostitutes their portions.

"Hey Ran, you in for some company?" The head ring leader asked him smoking her cigar. "No I'm here for business as usual, cough it up Mizuko" he said the lady rolled her eyes and two large men brought out huge sacks full of money.

Rindou was accompanied by two girls who were rubbing on his chest "that's unusual for you. what? Found another lover?" She said blowing out her smoke "what's it to you?" Ran said bluntly, he hated going to the prostitution houses the most out of their dirty work. He'd rather commit murder because the head ring leader was always pestering him and Rindou about Bonten trying to rope them in to give them more money.

"Oh nothing" Mizuko sang, "just wondering if you know that's she's back in town" she said casually. Ran scoffed "yeah that's also what you said two years ago then tried to get me to pay you for information that was non-existent" he wasn't falling for her dirty tricks. Not this time and not when he had somebody he cared about. Mizuko took a long puff from her cigar and blew it back out "you don't have to take my word for it" she lazily said shrugging her shoulders. Ran furrowed his brows together, he didn't understand why this would of been relevant news to him anyways. As far as he remembered she left him. "Lets go Rindou we got what we came here for" Ran said grabbing the sacks of cash "do visit again boys and bring the rest of them too especially Sanzu the girls would love to give him a nice treat" Mizuko said waving her hand goodbye, Ran and Rindou didn't care to look back at the head ring leader as they left. They both knew how she ran the business and they didn't care as long as the cash continued to flow in.

"Do you think she's really back?" Rindou nervously asked his older brother, Ran scoffed "don't be stupid Rin she pulls this trick every time" he said, Rindou put his hands in his pocket to calm his nerves "I've heard rumors" Rindou said "I don't care" Ran said in an irritated tone, Rindou back off the touchy subject, Ran always got into a mad mood whenever her name was brought up. Rindou decided to leave their conversation at that and the brothers continued to carry on their daily business of crime.

Mizuko pulled out her cell phone after making sure Ran and Rindou were out of sight making a call "your lover stopped by today. It seems like he's being occupied by somebody else" she tipped off. "Well that's no good".

It was already close to midnight and Y/N never got a call or text back from Ran. She started to get frustrated since he promised her he would call her. "Ahh whatever!" She said to herself kicking a pillow on the floor, just then her doorbell rang, she went check to see who was at her door before opening it "I missed you so much today" Ran said opening his arms and waited for Y/N to hug him back but she turned away and sat back on the couch. "Hey hey what's wrong? Did I upset you?" Ran asked in a soothing tone but Y/N ignored him and crossed her arms focusing on her TV, Ran chuckled lightly and poked the crinkles on her forehead that were formed because of her angry expression "don't frown too much you'll get wrinkles" he said but Y/N still didn't answer.

He pouted at her cold shoulder act and gave her a kiss on the cheek, her expression softened a bit but she was still silent. "Aw come on talk to me!" He said throwing his arms up in defeat, Y/N huffed "you know you could at least text me that you're busy, it only takes like 3 seconds to do that" she said to him and turning her attention back to the TV. "Aww okay I'm sorry my dear, I should of sent you a text but I had a very busy and stressful day" he said sighing and closing his eyes, Y/N looked over at him and did notice he looked more tired than usual. "Being a gangster must be hard" she sarcastically said Ran opened one eye "I do this to take care of you" he said half joking and half serious, "how was your day?" He hummed embracing Y/N. "Absolutely boring, you know I would usually be working but since you decided to buy out my work place I had nothing to do today except cook and clean" she complained Ran chuckled "a princess shouldn't have to work" he said tucking a strand of hair behind her ear "move in with me" he cooed "no it's too soon" she said Ran frowned "please"

"No"
"Pretty please?"
"No"

"Alright I'll drop this conversation but I would feel much more comfortable knowing you were at the penthouse instead of here I can't keep tabs on you" he said "so what you're saying is you want to lock your Princess up in a tower to watch her every move" Y/N joked "precisely" Ran nodded.

He had already warned Y/N that he was over protective and although Y/N didn't know how dangerous being with him was, Ran knew that being involved with him was extremely dangerous and could lead to unwanted encounters he had many enemies and although he knew he was untouchable he knew that Y/N wasn't. Ran wasn't willing to take the risk of her getting harmed for his actions and affiliations.

"Y/N" Ran said intertwining his fingers with hers "hmm?" She hummed back at him still focused on her TV, Ran placed her head on his shoulder "I think I'm in love" he admitted Y/N turned her head to look at Ran expecting him to have a playful look on his face but his face was dead serious. "Is it too soon to say I love you?" He asked his heart was beating fast and hard in his chest.

Y/N was flustered, they had only known each other for 3 days but 3 days was all it took for Ran to fall head over heels in love. "Hmmm there's never a right time to be in love, I wouldn't say I love you Ran but I'm on my way there I just want to get to know you better" Y/N said truthfully, a little sting to Ran's heart but he loved that she was honest with him. She was a nice breath of fresh air from all the lies and crime that was in his life, "I'll be waiting for you to say it back" Ran smiled planting a kiss on her forehead.

It was almost 2am and Ran had decided to go back to the Bonten penthouse, he didn't want to leave Y/N's side but he knew she needed some time and space to herself. She was independent, that was another thing he absolutely loved about her, "goodbye Y/N" he said pulling her in for a deep kiss "Goodnight Ran drive safe" she said after he pulled away from their kiss Ran walked towards his parked Ferrari and turned back around "ah by the way Y/N" he turned back around calling out to her, Y/N raised an eyebrow

"I love you"

Ran teasingly smirked seeing Y/N's flustered face before getting into his car before he sped off back to the penthouse "stupid Ran" she said slapping her face. Nobody had ever told her that they loved her besides Emma and Mikey, sure Hanma had said it before but it wasn't really genuine so she didn't count it. The warm feeling stayed in Y/N's chest as she climbed into bed drifting off to sleep, Ran's lips mouthing the words 'I love you' replaying in her mind over and over again until her world went dark falling into a deep slumber.
