Hello there (:
I changed the first chapter and added a prologue. Hope you like it. If you find something that doesn't make sense now, please tell me.
Enjoy (;
The flight didn’t take long and Claire and I were really excited as we left the plane.
Claire surprised me even more, because she already had a cab waiting for us at the airport. We elbowed our way through a big group o Asian tourists and got in.
I was finally where I always wanted to be, I thought. Feeling the soft seat under my hands, I knew I would now finally be abled to forget.
I displaced all the bad memories into a corner of my brain and sealed it, promising myself to keep it there and never let it ruin me again.
Then I opened my eyes and watched fascinated how naturally everyone was walking on the pavements, as if it wouldn’t be special at all. Well, for them it wasn’t special. I really wished I could become like one of these persons. Walking down the street, knowing you have a place to stay and a reason to get up the next morning.
The cab stopped in front of a huge buildings, like we saw them all the way from the airport.
”Here we are”, Claire smiled at me, her blue eyes were sparkling, “Our flat is on the 5th floor.”
When we came in, I forgot to breathe for a second. O my god! Was it beautiful!
The first thing I saw was a really big lounge. In there was a huge, comfortable looking, purple coloured leather couch with tons of multicoloured pillows on it. I felt the urgent need to throw myself onto it at once. Claire showed me around.
The kitchen was as amazing as the lounge. So was Claire's bedroom. As we finally arrived in my bedroom, wich I somehow didn’t expect to have, my eyes were filling with tears.
I was so touched, by how much time, work and money my best friend put into this just for me.
Stupid me, I thought, that’s not a reason to cry!
My eyes obviously felt like it was. I couldn’t help but hug her again.
”I’ll leave you alone for a bit, so you can sort yourself. I’ll go shop some food”, she said, took her purse from the couch table and left.
My bed felt really soft when I sat down. I looked around my new home. On the opposite side of the room there was a make-up table and next to it an empty shelf and an emtpy cupboard. I sighed, when I remembered that I, yet, didn’t own anything to fill it up apart from the clothes I was wearing and the clothes Claire bought for. The walls were painted in a lavender purple shade, with black patterns all over it.
My door was covered with a mirror and I got up and looked at myself.
I wasn’t particularly tall. My natural blond hair was coloured brown with some green strands. My eyes were currently blue but they sometimes are green and sometimes grey, depending on the light and my mood.
I have never been very thin, always kind of normal, but never happy about it.
I was wearing a tight skirt over a dark red matching pair of tights and a big black and grey striped sweater.
When I looked at my face again the first thing that popped into my eye was the huge wound on the side of my forehead. I had a fringe cut to hide it, but it didn’t really work because the hair dress-lady messed it up. There also were some thin scratches on my cheek, that were slowly healing. I have tried to cover them but it looked really strange, because I never wear makeup.
