Fays POV
I felt the pressure of my phone right next to my beating heart. I felt like the world around me stopped when I saw that once familiar face. The door had slowly been opened and in slow motion two men dressed in black had pushed one man dressed in white into the hall. I remembered quickly pulling my hand out of my shirt again, after excitedly touching my phone’s case. For one moment there was hope. Then there was nothing but the humming in my ears and the slow beating of my heart. I blinked multiple times before the precious little word escape my lips: “Daddy”.
His dark green eyes were staring at me out of his sweaty face. His usually gelled back hair was hanging into his forehead in strands. His white shirt was pulled out of his jeans and he had a bruise on his cheekbone.
But all I could see was that person I used to look up to. That person that left on my birthday. And that person we never heard a word of ever again after the second most horrible day in my life.
Now he was just some steps away from me and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Soon I wasn’t able to see anything from the tears swelling up in my eyes.
I blinked again when shouting voices broke the humming in my ears.
”Will you now give us what we want? Do you see your girl?”, one of the black guys shouted at my Dad. He didn’t say anything. He just kept staring at me. I stared back and sniffed.
”Do you know, she is the only one left of you family?”. I gasped.
”NO”, my Dad shouted and I shivered by the familiar sound of his voice. So many memories came along with it.
”Let’s just leave them in here for a while and they can have happy family reunion. And you”, he shoved my Dad down to ground, “think about what we said. You don’t want your pretty little girl to get harmed, do you?”. My Dad just groaned and one of the man spat on the ground next to his head before they both went out the door. Now there was just my aching heart, too many memories and the neon lights, making my tears sparkle, left in the grey hall.
I watched my father heave himself up and walk over to me. He sat down next to me.
”Hey”, was all he said.
”Hey”, I whispered back.
Dans POV
I felt the urgent need to punch the man sitting in front of me into his face. Multiple times. How. Could. He. Do something to Fay? How? The only thing keeping me from hitting him was Claire's hand on my shoulder.
”How can I get her back?”, I hissed. I couldn’t get my voice to work properly.
”It’s complicated”, Tom answered. I sighed. I wanted to know her safe. I couldn’t bare the thought of her being kept probably in a dark room, her hands and ankles tied together. I bit my lips by the thought of her beautiful face distorted by fear. Once again I felt tears welling up. I swallowed hard before I said:
”What can I do?”
”Be strong and be patient”, Tom answered. That was not what I wanted to hear. That sounded nothing like saving her tonight.
”Where is she?”, I asked.
”I can’t tell you.” What? Why? Why did they call me? To give me ambivalent answers?
”Oh please. I’m real close to hitting you in the face”, I hissed, “Give me some proper information. What. Will. We. Do?”.
”I just got a phone call from my boss. They found Fay’s Dad and now he wants us to blackmail him by harming her. I will have to go soon and pick him up from the hall where Fay and he are currently. At about 3 am. We will take them somewhere. I don’t know where yet. I will try to get them out. It will be your job to help me get Fay and her Dad into a safe place. Claire will guide the police to where they will be soon and I will try to help her. My boss will be there. Because even if we save them, it won’t use anything if my boss is still free. You understand that? I will text you where I will be and you will come immediately. You understand?”. I did. And I was furious. I have never before hated someone as much before. How were there people in this world that could harm someone like Fay? Didn’t they have any sense of remorse. Even that guy had. Even he. What kind of horrible person was his boss?
It was three hours until 3am. I would have to wait until then.
After a while of waiting and watching a horrible Tv show, I decided to call Phil and tell him he shouldn’t worry. Tom told me to tell him Fay chose to visit a friend and we would fetch her from there.
”She didn’t call because her phone went out of battery. She called us from her friend’s place”, I said to him.
”OK? Well tell her she shall never do this again, right?”
”I will, get some sleep Phil, bye”, I said, knowing I wouldn’t sleep until I had Fay back.
”Wait, Da...”, he said, but I hung up. I knew he didn’t believe me and I hated lying to him. I hated it more than anything. But I had to.
I hoped you enjoyed. This chapter was really short, but idk, I'm somehow getting to a point where the story gets kind of thrilling.
I want to hear your opinion (; Do you want the talk between Fay and her Dad? PLEASE tell me (; I wanna write things that my readers want to read ^^
