She went to Jay's mother, she need advice and her father dead and mother never cared about her this was the next thing. Charlotte ran to the back seat hoping to see her granddaughter and was a little sad when she wasn't there. "Where have you been? I thought you weren't coming!" She exclaimed "Hello! Oh no Ellie well I guess we will have regular girl lunch she said about to get into the car when she saw the mark on Caitlin's face. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry" she said and hugged Caitlin. "What happened? What did you say to him" she said breaking away from the hug as a few tears slid down Caitlin's face.

She realised that she needed another set of ears and that this was his mother, not hers. She went to the CatCo the company Kara worked at now that she was a reporter. "Some trigger in the first week other's it years in" Kara said "The problem is you want a man-man which mean his veins are thick with testosterone which is good but he can turn around at any moment and just hit you"

"I'm not this person" Caitlin said shakily "I'm not a person who's husband beats her up"

"I know" Kara said and hugged her sympathetically "You got to go to the cops"

"He is the father of my child I am not going to put him in jail" Caitlin said and was ready to get up and leave.

"Caitlin I'm sorry okay but please just listen to me" Kara said and Caitlin sat back down. "You have two options, option one you can stay there and endure the pain or you can choose option number two and get yourself out of their with Ellie as well" Kara said

Caitlin was thinking about what Kara said. She was waiting for Ellie to come out of school when the teacher came and approached her. "Mrs Garrick, Hi, I just wanted to let you know that your husband got her, she was really excited I told him he should do it more often"

"Oh must have slipped my mind" Caitlin lied "Have good day she said getting home as fast as she could. When she got there she couldn't hear anything "Ellie, Jay, Ellie!" She said roaming the house. She quickly took to her phone and called him.

"Hi" He said "How's it going?"

"Where are you?" She asked

"Zoo" he replied simply

"Why didn't you tell me?" She said

"I left you a message" he said and Caitlin then headed Ellies little voice in the background. She smiled hearing her daughter's voice and it was that moment she realised that she couldn't trust him anymore. She couldn't live with him anymore.

"Uh, so when are you coming home?" She asked calming down.

"I don't know" Jay said "I'll see you later" He then hung up the phone and Caitlin had to come up with a plan to escape.

They were having dinner while Ellie was playing in the next room. "You made me nervous when I couldn't reach you" Jay said and Caitlin stayed silent "I thought you were going to cancel with my mother" Jay said and she still stayed quiet. "You have to go crying to the old gang and the greasy spoon" he said and she looked at him shocked. "What happened to privacy?"

"Well I guess it's dead along with chivalry and fidelity" Caitlin replied

"Tell me, do you have any idea how bad things can get?" Jay said leaning closer to her and she tried not to flinch, she tried not to waver.

"Educate me" She said and he went back to eating his food.

"I'm a determined man Cait" Jay said "I was determined to have you and I did, this house, my compony I was determined to have them all and I got them. I am a man who get what he wants and I still want you. You can accept it or you can fight it. It's your choice. What why are you going to go?" Jay said taking a sip of some wine.

"I want to be happy" Caitlin said

"Good, Good" Jay said

The next day Caitlin visited the National City Police Department. "Hi, one of my friends she is being abused by her husband"

"Se should come in here and file a complaint" the officer said "and if she has physical evidence of abuse one her person we can arrest him"

"But if he has money he can bail himself out?" she asked

"Yes" the officer said bluntly

"Then he's free until he goes to trial" Caitlin says

"If it goes to trial, it is up to the attorney's office weather to prosecute" the officer says very monotone

"So she come sin here files a complaint, has him arrested and pisses him off, and there is not guarantee that he won't come after her, when she's out on the street" Caitlin says

"she could get a protection order" the officer states

"What is that a little piece of paper that says he can't go near her? And when he comes around what does she do?" Caitlin asked get frustrated with the whole situation.

"She calls us" the officer replies

"What if there's a child involved?" She states

"Then that's a matter for the family court" the officer says "but if she can't legally prove that she is a danger to the child she can't bar access with him" Caitlin knew that the justice system wouldn't be on her side so she just left. "Miss, Miss" the man called after her bust she just kept on walking away.
