Chapter Twenty-Six: Boxed In

Liam POV

All of us were at the base, looking at the news. "Today marks the official start to the Pan Global Games, teams from around the world will be competing, from track and field to swimming and gymnastics, there are thousands of events happening, the only hard part is picking what to see first. I'm Muriel Reeves, Coral Harbor News." Muriel said.

Zoey turned off the news. "Guys, my mom is right, what are we gonna watch?" Zoey asked. "High-jump could be pretty cool." Nate said. "I wanna see the pros shoot some hoops." Steel said. "Yeah, weightlifting is where it's at, maybe I should enter the competitions." Ravi said. We laughed a bit.

Commander Shaw came into the room. "Sorry to ruin the party, but I need three of you to do a routine check on several Morph-X Towers." Commander Shaw said. "But, the games are starting." Steel said. "You can't disregard your responsibilities, just because there's something else you'd rather do." Commander Shaw said. "You're right, Commander. We'll get the job done." Devon said. "Good." Commander Shaw said as she left.

"When you said will, what did you mean exactly?" Ravi asked. "All of us, of course, if we all chipped in we'll finish faster, and than maybe we can catch some of the games. That's fair right?" Devon asked. "I agree." I said. "Sounds good." Zoey said.

We were about to leave. "Woah, hold on, I'll miss the weightlifting, why should all of us have to miss some of the events, when only three really need to work?" Ravi asked. "Because we're a team. That's why." Devon said. "Sure, but I'll miss weightlifting. Let's draw names from a hat, that's the only fair way to decide who goes to the games, and who checks the towers." Ravi suggested. "Well, when you put it like that, it's very logical." Steel said. "Okay, let's do it." Nate said.

Nate put our names, on a piece of paper, into a bucket. "Okay, everyone's name is now in the bucket. The first three I draw stay here to work, got it?" Nate asked. All of us nodded our heads. "Do it, Nate." Steel said. Nate grabs the first one, and hands it to Ravi.

"Zoey." Ravi said.

"Devon."

"And, Nate."

Ravi, and Steel started whooping. "Me, Liam, and Ravi, we're going to the games." Steel said. Steel, and Ravi looked at the others. "Oh." Steel said. "Fair's fair guys." Ravi said. "Sorry." Steel said. "See ya." Ravi said. Ravi, and Steel left.

"You guys sure, you'll be okay?" I asked. "We're sure, go enjoy the games, Liam." Nate said. "Alright, but if anything happens, call us." I said. "Will do." Devon said. I left the room, and followed Ravi, and Steel.

"Ravi, Liam, Steel get here now there's a Robotron." Zoey told us. "Really? Okay we're on our way." Ravi said.

We arrived at the location, morphed. "Hey, Robotron!" Ravi said. "Huh? Oh, great!" Dumbbelltron said. "Back off!" Ravi said. Ravi begin fighting Dumbbelltron. ME, and Steel got to the others. "What's wrong?" Steel asked. "It's really heavy, Steel." Nate said. "No problem, I'll lift it the same ways they do it in the games, observe." Steel tries to lift it but fails. "Well, that was a practice." Steel said. "I'll help." I said.

Me, and Steel tried to lift the weights but fails. Ravi destroyed Dumbbelltron. Me, and Steel are still trying to lift the dumbbell. "Almost got it." Steel said. "It's too heavy." I said. Ravi came over. "Looks like you guys need a hand, together, Steel, Liam grab an end, lift." Ravi said. Ravi, Steel, and I got the Dumbbell off of the others.

We helped the others up. "That's a weight off our shoulders." Zoey said. "Like I said, easy." Steel said. "Thanks guys." Devon said. All of us de-morphed. "Cruise I need a ride, I'll take the first batch of maintenance back to base, the Commander wanted ASAP." Devon said. "Good idea, Zoey, and I will meet you at Tower 3." Nate said.
